I buy new Pokemon games anyways, but for the most part, I'm looking for the third version game (or games in this case) to massively improve upon the original pair in some way these days. B/W2 at least seem to be better than B/W, so yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Just behind it would be new Pokemon, but it'd be pretty silly to expect those in the middle of a generation.
The new character designs sorta bother me...but I'll try to look beyond those and enjoy the meat of the game.
Like take two different pokemon and subject them unethical science experiments to create one new one and then catalog their data for later use and summoning?
Or am I just dreaming Pokemon will steal that from Shin Megami Tensei?
Because they totally should.
That's why I kept my DSi XL. Game looks great on it (although today I found a massive design flaw on it)
When a Pokemon for 3DS comes out, I'll probably get it, if only so I can battle in 3D (hopefully). But I'm afraid it's going to have the same trainer-gym leader-elite four-premise.
Everybody wins!
weve add
action rpg pokemons
srpg pokemons
mystery dungeon pokemons
normal pokemons
all this gen
what more do you want?
You think you'll be able to review it before it comes out? Assuming they give you more than a few days notice?
Yeah, I guess you are right, but I would like to see them experiment more with setting and story in the main series while keeping the core gameplay mechanics. I should have specified that. If there was one thing I liked about Colosseum, it was that it had the traditional battles but introduced a new premise: being a former criminal, fighting the organization you just betrayed which tries to gain power by corrupting Pokemon. And while the spin-off games does experiment, I usually find the gameplay in them lackluster. Fortunately Conquest's gameplay looks fun. I guess I'm hard to please :p
I'll try to do that again with this one, but who knows!
@ ctg867- I'm confused. How is this post not "bringing up some valid questions on whether or not this release justifies a purchase if you already have B/W"? How does using my opinion as a starting point for discussion make this like a Tumblr post or a Facebook update? We do that all the time on Dtoid.
Do you just not like my writing style, do you not like opinions in your news, or both?
Unless they do something revolutionary with the combat system or graphics, I might sit this one out.
Fingers crossed they use the cancelled episode plot from the anime where Plasma fights Rocket.
I know you guys are "games writers" more than "games journalists", but directly inserting yourself and your opinions into an article is normally an editorial thing, not a hard news thing. In my experience there's a difference between raising questions with attributions and giving your own opinions.
Again, not trying to be a dick. Just my two cents. Thanks for listening, regardless. By and large I like your writing style. This post just stood out relative to what I feel like I'm used to on Dtoid.
I was very disappointed when I arrived to Black City and it was just a bunch of copy-pasted buildings and only like two houses where you could get in.
About more new pokemon... don't we have enough already? How many more different combinations of pokemon do we need? I shudder to think when the time comes when we have 2000+ pokemon...
