Still waiting for something to mix up the battle system. We haven't had any meaningful changes since the third set.
This has me excited/interested for sure. Being a big fan of Pokemon, I was going to pick up the next game regardless of what it is, but this has me even more interested. I was even comletely ready to buy a 3DS for a new Pokemon game, but I guess now I can wait a bit longer.
I'll be happy if it's a sequel in the vein of Gold/Silver (16 gyms, two regions) or otherwise.

Those legendary Pokemon look... really, really lame and unoriginal. Even as a longtime Pokemon fanatic, the series has really started to make me feel like it's on it's last breath. Despite the gameplay and aesthetic changes in B/W, the monster designs got a lot lazier (Garbador? Swoobat? That fish that's a ground/electric type?!), and the core issues that have always been prevalent in the series (clunky menus, four-way control scheme, frustrating progression) were still there. People seem to go easy on the series "because it's Pokemon", but that's no excuse for putting out an RPG that's basically behind every other one on the market. I don't hate Pokemon. In fact, I'm there every morning of every freaking launch to pick up both versions, and as I type this, I sit next to my small Pokemon figurine collection, and on the shelf behind me is an import copy of Blue for the original Game Boy. I love the series, but I feel that it's really time for an overhaul.
Unfortunately... they'll probably sucker me into getting this one too. >.<

I hope there will be a painless transfer of Pokemon. Like let me wirelessly synch up with the sequel and get fresh, ordinary eggs of all the non-legendaries I caught. A DS app that lets this work with only one machine would be convenient.
Not on 3DS? Big mistake IMO. The system's proven itself in Japan because of that Monster Hunter re-release, but the West is much more skeptical. Too many iPod Touches and original DSes. The 3DS doesn't have a killer app for that audience yet. New Pokemon would be just that.
But hey, I won't complain. Now I get to play them without wasting $170 on a poorly put together game system I have zero desire to own.

I would like to point out the logos of each. It could mean nothing at all but there are Red and Blue gem looking thing in each of the logos.

Woo I can't wait for this! The Zekrom/Kyurem fusion is pretty ugly though. I wonder if it'll be set in the same place, or if new and old places will open up.

Think about what happen to N after defeating him. What happen to Team Plasma. Where is the true story behind Team Rocket vs Team Plasma. The fact that Black and White had only 3 hours Post-Game adventure that a sequel is made to continue the story.
Also this isn't the first time a sequel was made. Pretty much Gold and Silver is a sequel to Red and Blue since it is a couple year after Red for Red and Blue became Champion and Blue became the Gym Leader of Viridian City. That a sequel there.
This maybe the same case you start off as New Trainers and go on a adventure. You will meet Bianca and Cherren and of course the main characters. In a region new Unova perhaps a region like Canada.

The theory my friends and I have come up with is that the combined Zekrom/Reshiram/Kyurem are not new forms, but actually new pokemon altogether. The artwork show seems to imply that the exclusive hybrid for each version will be Kyurem combined with the legendary dragon that Team Plasma had in B/W.

Here's some wild speculation: B/W2 will be about hunting down the shadow triad, Ghetsis, and N, Team Plasma has combined their legendary dragon with Kyurem to try and resurrect the original dragon, Looker is really awesome and does things, maybe we get a new region of Pokeamerica(probably not), and maybe there's a time skip.
If you'll recall, the Gen 2 games were initially titled Pocket Monsters 2: Gold and Silver, and they are definitely more directly connected to their predecessor than the other games. B/W2 might be taking a similar route, so maybe we'll get a new set of player characters and rivals, and we'll get to see, oh, I dunno, Professor Bianca, Champion Cheren, Hilda and Hilbert as Battle Subway Masters?

This could be totally awesome. I would be 100% happy with a new Pokemon B/W title with new starters +100 new Pokemon, and all new areas to explore, like G/S was to R/B.

There's people that would rather see a rehash or a port with graphical improvements over a sequel.

If Nintendo said anything like that about a Grey game it was to back up what Gamefreak said about a Grey game. Gamefreak were the ones who said there'd be no Grey game. Don't rush into Nintendo conspiracy theories one way or another, about totally unrelated things, just because something Nintendo RELATED happens to have truth in it.

is that image official, kyrem fell from outer space and had its body damaged causing him to leak power giving him his current look, reshiram and zekrom are the split version of the same Pokémon. the three of them fusing together doesn’t make sense to me but i can see kyrem being used in the sequel. this is really nice, however i caught all of the pokemon except for genisect melodetta and the 4th elemental horse in the cobalion triad.
It's on the regular-as DS, cus why have advancement when you can have stagnation! It's more of the same, cus why the fuck not!
They're trolling and gonna release Gray on the 3DS. Also B&W were very story driven for pokemon games, a sequel makes sense.
I would like to see a complete reboot of the Pokemon series on 3DS. Full 3D world and characters; fully animated combat, like modern turn-based RPGs; and kind of get back to its roots. Could even go back to the original 150, I wouldn't mind.
We knew another game based off of Black and White was coming...but it's interesting they're taking this route. I found B&W intriguing (I own Black, myself) but I was a bit put off by the designs...I felt like I was capturing Digimon more than Pokemon. Perhaps I'm still somewhat stuck in the 151 era? It's nice that they're releasing this on the regular ol' DS as well, but I wonder what that says for the 3DS sales...we already know how poor they are, but this kind of solidifies it.
I am definitely intrigued at the Legendary merging and out of all the plot lines, especially when it came to the baddies, B&W hooked me. Even if I found the Pokemon themselves a bit lackluster, I'm a sucker for plot, so I'll definitely be looking into this!
