I for one am glad they are releasing it for the DS instead of the 3DS. That way I can pirate it and play it on my DS using my M3 Adapter.

It will be s rehash just like all the other pokemon games, the maps the graphics all of it all just to make money....they need to update the game somehow, maybe a 3d third person game I dunno, but I hated pokemon after the re release of silver and gold.....

If they were releasing it on 3DS, it would be an instant purchase for me. As it stands, I don't know if I can be bothered playing ANOTHER Pokemon DS game.

If they just say "Autumn", Americans wouldnt know what theyre talking about. If they just say "Fall", Euros will get all pissy about the world talking like Americans(see: Football).
Im Canadian so Im just pretending they meant that each game(Black2 and White2) have their own release windows that happen to overlap, and because each game is so awesome they warrant their own individual release dates they needed to differentiate them somehow.

Well, releasing this for the DS instead of tacking it to the 3DS makes sense; kids are 100% more likely to have a DS than a 3DS, and even those who have a 3DS probably still have their DS (unless they're foolish and give it away)

Well considering that the 3DS has backward compatibility, even if those 3DS owners give it away their DS they will still be able to play this game.

It is possible that they could make the DS games have 3DS capabilities (or atleast home menu/streetpass enabled)... It's unlikely that they will put that much work into it but I'm sure it's possible.
Actually? I'm kinda shocked at this. Simply because, it is a good choice all around. Also because, I am kinda surprised to see a direct sequel involving a Pocket Monster title that did not involve a movie, or an off shoot game. Is this a good move? Yes, but I still wish we'd stop seeing more legendaries. Enough already! You could make an entire game just out of the legendaries they have now. (-_-)
