The design of pokemon themselves are so weak after red/blue. Dunno why but that has always kept me away.

i dont know about that but bw2 have a huge number of cool new additions to the gameplay like the return of earlier gen pokemon in the main game, and the dream radar, and all the many the c-gear refinements like omg its worth getting excited over

What bout' my remakes of Ruby and Sapphire for the 3DS? But all jokes aside, I haven't played a Pokemon game since Soul Silver and this looks pretty solid. I'm glad I missed out on Black and White in favor of their revamps.

Don't know if you know this, but there hasn't been a "new" pokemon since this all first started. They haven't run out of the first 1000 they made when pokemon was designed.
They announced a while ago that they had to cut it down because it was overwhelming, but then realized they could use it as a strategy and feed a couple hundred each series until they are forced to make more, which has yet to happen.
