To you, the day Podtoid recorded a running commentary for the 1994 Street Fighter movie was the most important day of your life.
For Aaron Linde, it was Tuesday.
Or Monday night, rather. Either way, we're finally watching Street Fighter, which means that even if the podcast sucks, it'll still be eight times better than an average Podtoid episode due solely to Raul Julia's tangential involvement.
Pretty much the entire Podtoid will just be us watching the flick after some initial Games of the Week crap, but I'll read a few listener questions near the end just so we can give away some cool stuff to one of you. You can ask about pretty much anything you want, but it's likely that by the end of the film we'll be so pumped by Jean Claude Van Damme's Belgian accent that we'll gravitate toward questions related to the SF movie itself.
Anyway, hit the jump and get to asking. And make sure to get a copy of the Street Fighter movie if you want to enjoy tomorrow's episode.
will there be scenes interpreted through the medium of poetry?
also @Iron1c
the only movie Van Damme stand out to me is in bloodsport, where the beefy chinese dude throws crushed ramen noodles in his eyes and Van Damme just screams at no apparent thing. really hard.
If you could add a Street Fighter character to the movie (like Dan for example) who would you add and what actor/actress would you cast for the role? Also, if you could recast one of the original characters in the movie which character would it be and who would you recast for the role?
With the success of Aaron Linday's Bonerquest: The Reboning. I think the next project the genius known as Aaron Linday should take up should be Street Fighter: The Musical.
A ride through Heavy Metal, Synth Pop and 70's Prog Rock that narrate the tragic story of Ryu, a tormented japanese guy that cannot stop fighting.
The struggle of an actor playing Bison because he knows he'll never be as awesome as Raul Julia.
Finally Jim Sterling, Topher Cantler and The Revered Anthony Burch sexing up the Street Fighter female of their choice.
I remember reading an interview of Raul Julia shortly after the Street Fighter movie came out. He said the main reason why he did the movie was because one of his kids was a huge fan of the game and wanted him to do it. Bless him.
"Can I just cut in there? Sorry, I haven't said anything for a while. Thanks"
....
"I'm not saying you're crying"
....
So, now you've finished watching the movie, did anyone care to think about the fact that you KNOW I listen at work. You just know this, for crying out loud.
IT JUST MEANS I'M GONNA HAVE THE BEST NIGHT EVER NOW!! I LOVE YOU GUYS AND I'M FUCKING BROKE AND I KNOW I'M GONNA HAVE TO GO BUY THIS FUCKING DVD TOMORROW AT SOME POINT AND WATCH IT ALL THE WAY TO THE END WITHOUT A PAUSE BECAUSE IF I WANT A SHIT OR SOMETHING I WON'T BE ABLE TO PAUSE BOTH THINGS AT THE SAME TIME.
They'll go out of sync.
I love you all, without remorse and with very little mercy.
The soundtrack to the movie has a track featuring both MC Hammer and Deion Sanders. Arguably this is music inspired more by the game than the film; however it gets me thinking about Brutal Legend highlighting actual metal songs.
We have music games but would you want to see more licensed music appearing in different genres? And how far can it go before the game itself becomes just another advertising medium for the music?
good luck on the recording ! I hope to god you actually figure out how to do this. I would've recommended you steal Riff-trax's method of syncing, but I imagine your setup is pretty basic
Will the Bonerquest movie have Jean-Claude Van Damme?
Would Street Fighter have been better if the entire cast was Muppets?
Does Street Fighter represent what video game movies can or cannot be as an art form?
Have any of you ever played Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game: The Movie: The.. sorry, got caught up in that. Anyway, I own it for the Saturn and it's just God awful-- I suggest you play it. Just sayin'.
I know that you guys, and most gamers, value a good single player experience, especially as far as story is considered. For many people it's the main reason to buy a game, however, with multiplayer becoming more and more prevalent as time goes on, single player experiences seem to slowly be less and less important, if nonexistent at all (Shadowrun, Warhawk, Team Fortress 2, etc.).
My question is, how do you feel about this trend, and is having a strong multiplayer component enough to make up for a lacking single player campaign, or the lack of one at all?
On a related note, will Boner Quest 2 have multiplayer support? If so, would it be a cooperative experience, or would it be a strictly deathmatch style gameplay element?
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

I need a copy of the SFIV movie. Quickly.
I know what I'm drawing this we~ek.
Which characters would the cast of Podtoid choose to play as in a Street Fighter remake? Jim is automatically Honda.
I can't wait.
please this has been bothering me since forever
Oh yeah Go bison!

Will we ever see this?
Could Niero Produce?
I'm just askin'
"You can go home, ORYOUCANCOMEWITHME!"
"For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday."
Classic.
What is the best quote from the movie? (Bison/Tuesday thing notwithstanding)
*facepalm*

Discuss.
you came to fight a man, and you found... A GOD !
I have...on a freaking cruise ship!!! But because it was the only machine there on free play.
It might be more Mortal Kombat than Street Fighter, but it's not terrible.
Hmm...what would Super Mario Bros.: The Movie: The Game be like? I can barely imagine the horror...
The new Nibris game Egyptian Dental Fair is a pharaoh to remember, and that's the tooth!
Would Street Fighter have been better if the entire cast was Muppets?
Does Street Fighter represent what video game movies can or cannot be as an art form?
Fuck yes!
Also do you all think this movie should have an official spinoff focusing on Zangief?
question time: I've got seventy dollars to spare, what should i use it on.
Also, who is your favorite/the most awesome character in the movie?
