Last week, I asked you guys not to submit "year in review"-esque questions for the weekly $25 listener contest. I hope you saved them, because this week's episode will be almost entirely devoted to summarizing, praising, and whining about 2007 at large.
Episode 38 -- which will, I assume, include some horrendously insensitive stroke jokes aimed at Dick Clark -- will feature Aaron Linde, Jim Sterling, and Tiff "Don't Call Me Tiffany" Chow. Was 2007 truly the best year ever for gaming? What were its highs and lows? What's to look forward to in 2008? Our devoted cast will pretend to know the answers to these questions while simultaneously eating and/or playing unrelated videogames.
Anyway, hit the jump and ask some damn questions. Whoever asks the best one will win 25 bucks.
Oh, also: Podtoid now records on Wednesday, and hits the site on Thursday. Mark your e-calendars.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Was early "nex-gen"
Current gen if you want.
But, 2008 will be better.
Jim, what was the most overrated game of 2007?
And most importantly... we can look forward to GTA 4....
I already picked up my 1000 shares of TTWO... did you?
Also, do you think the games released during 2007 show "this generation" to it's fullest potential, or do you think the best is yet to come?
My question is this:
What was the best RPG of the year for each of you? Mine would be Persona 3.
Friday Night Fights revival! Please.
My question is thus...
Do you think this upcoming year will be known more for:
a) the power of all the consoles finally being shown well in polished, though perhaps unoriginal, games
b) surprise hits that might utilize original gameplay and premise more than graphics
c) Starcraft 2 (one can hope...)
d) other (explain)
Thanks guys! Keep up the awesomenessing.
Also, why is Super Mario Galaxy so boring?
I think Destructoid have already made it quite clear they don't care who pays the bills.
Don't you think Tony Bennett looks like a more handsome Jack Thompson?
I want you all to talk about music in games. I want to hear shower curtains mentioned in this podcast at least once.
Or go with this: I know that some lament the current state of gaming and long for the days of retro games, but I'm actually excited about the current state and the future of games. While there are tons of shit games and shoddy design practices out there, I can't help but look at games like Mass Effect (shut up, Jim), BioShock, Portal, the Half-Life series, Mario Galaxy, etc. and feel that the near future (at least) is very bright and promising. Any thoughts? What are you looking forward to?
So, my question is what other games could benefit from a XBLA iteration? Would there be any games specifically that you would like to see re-done (assuming the original creator(s) can come back)?
Also it might be interesting if there are any particularly memorable post or comments of the year?
Sadly, I have essentially zero taste in music, and I assume Nex is far too busy to add some (and I'm far too egotistical to allow him). The intro/outro themes will probably just consist of whatever I happen to be listening to at that particular moment in relevance to the show's content.
I just feels something that should be made a bigger bitch about than something like the Gurstmann rumors.
Might I suggest Queens of the Stone Age's "Turnin' On The Screw"? I should totally be your soundtrack man. I'm an indie fuck, just like Nex. I'll even suck up to you all the time and never disagree with you.
Do you see a port of Mass Effect for the PC?
More seriously though, do you think we will hear anything more official about the NEXT consoles, handheld or otherwise? I would actually hope to hell we DON'T, I'd like things to stay stable for a few more years.

Well not that kind of stroke, but it would make a good Wii game. So would dick clark's speech hero where you have to hit the buttons to enunciate words. (Spoiler warning: you always lose)
Also, do you think Sony can make a turn around and catch up to the 360 after what we saw on the holidays? Why or why not?
What the hell are you talking about Action?
And also why does Rock Band take so long to be released in Europe? I want to rock the hell out already!
