I couldn't be more excited for the impending release of Journey and less excited about the impending release of Mass Effect 3. It already seems that these two games going head to head is a foregone conclusion: Mass Effect 3 will be one of the biggest, most talked about games of the year and Journey will be that great little game I played when I finally made time for it.

Does it seem like certain games are deemed more important just because of their visibility and inferred value within the gaming community? Why is a game's length (or lack thereof really) still so important? Is a game's social currency derived strictly from the net worth of the sum of its parts (most hours of gameplay, most hours of recorded dialogue, most weapons, most modes, most branching paths, most dialogue options, most skill sets, etc.)?
