Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Podtoid 98 is tonight, do your thing photo

I want it.

It's only two weeks until Podtoid's 100th episode, which means...well, absolutely nothing, now that I think about it. Tonight's episode will be pretty much like any other -- we'll talk about console-specific DLC, LEGO Rock Band, and gaming as a "recession-proof" industry.

And, as always, your listener questions.

Hit the jump, watch the video, and ask us stuff. If you ask the best question, you'll get a Dtoid swag bag. Typical situation.

So after all the controversy, "Six Days in Fallujah" was cancelled. Since I assume feeling about this issue specifically will be discussed in the show, I'll ask this?

Do you feel that there is a subject, historical or not, that should be off-limits to games? If so, what would that be?

Discuss!

Suggestion for the hundredth episode: Listener questions episode but you each must answer the questions in the style of your chosen Street Fighter Movie character. Special guests: Tiff Chow, Robert Summa and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

And my questions are:

When will this Lego crossover madness stop? It was fun at first but it's surely gone too far. Will every game, movie, book, man, woman and child eventually come with a Lego tie in edition?

What's your favourite game from a genre you don't normally like?

New Fallout 3 DLC "Broken Steel" is coming out in a few weeks. The DLC is supposed to not only raise the level cap to 30, but extend the storyline and change the ending. What would you consider to be the best possible ending for Fallout 3, now that you know the main storyline, and know that it's going to be extended?

Does Arron Linde hate me?

Also: At what point do you guys pull out the internet to help you on games? In a recent community blog I pissed in the wind about how gameFAQs changed gaming and that pulling out a guide these days felt more like I was cheating myself than cheating at the game to beat it.

It's still on my little cblog nonsense. Click my name to take a look. I don't get paid for it like Rev does from AMC, I only win internets.

Which brings me to my next question, how many internets did I win for making my indie game? And how many more will I wind for the XNA version?

Just saw that Uncharted 2 has multiplayer, which is weird because it has established itself as a very good single player experience and multiplayer costs time and money.

Do you think they are using multiplayer to stop people from trading in the game after they have finished with the single player? There is a lot of multiplayer shooters on the PSN and I could do without deathmatch and CTF in Uncharted 2. Has the online multiplayer business model (selling player skins and map packs) gotten profitable enough for every shooting game to have multiplayer?

Do you guys appreciate and/or enjoy videogame themed music? Like when musicians make songs devoted to videogames, or based on them in some way. Would you bump that kind of thing while rolling through the hood in your sweet ride, or is that kind of thing beneath you? Would you even listen to it if it was on your mp3 player, or would it be kind of like an ironic joke thing to share with your friends when you're drunk?
I posted a cblog with a couple Street Fighter 4 themed songs, you know, for refference. :3

In the same vein, what do you guys think of videogame themed T-shirts and things like that? As the old farts you are, is that kind of thing just too juvenile for you to leave the house wearing?
When can we expect to see some Bonerquest t-shirts? And just to channel Summa one last time, is the "Q" capitalized?

It's a fact: you know a game is going to be badass if they have a late title card. Nothing says quality like a game that doesn't reveal the title of the game until you're already 10 or 15 minutes into playing it.
What are your favorite Late Title Cards in video games?
(As an example, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay doesn't actually show the title of the game in game until you've already completed an awesome flashback sequence.)

Let's pretend. Noby Noby Boy and Reggie Fils-Aime are revealed to be ancient guardians of the Earth whose very existences keep an unspeakable evil (say, a sequel to Yaris) sealed away from humanity.

Cammie Dunaway discovers that both Noby Noby Boy and Reggie Fils-Aime share a secret weakness: magma. As both Noby Noby Boy (who was created as the superior counterpart to Cammie; the Solid to her Liquid) and Reggie Fils-Aime (who Cammie hopes to dethrone) are lowered into an active volcano, you only have time to save one in order to prevent Yaris 2 from realization.

WHO. DO. YOU. SAVE.

I mean I know that I only paid 60$ for the on-disc content. But that still doesn't stop me from feeling like tearing out their eyes out for not giving me *ANY* form of giving them more money for an extended experience.

I pick 'a' even though I know they're not doing *Anything* wrong I don't think they're doing it *right* either.

With current economic conditions, do game studios need to re-adjust their finical expectations for all their titles? Would it be more beneficial to release a game at a lower price point to beef up sales numbers and try to recoup costs with DLC (be it on the disc or completely new content)?

Radical terrorists have kidnapped your Grandmother. The only way you can save her and defeat them is by grafting Aaron Linde onto your crotch, turning you into a superhero, crime fighting team. Do you think video games are being too conservative when it comes to basic story? Also, how often would you groom the newly grafted Linde?

I was thinking about Six Days in Fallujah, and I realized that even if it is utterly tasteless, it may have merit in the vein of the original concept for Bonerquest. (Bonerquest was supposed to be so sexually perverted, all other sex in video games would seem tame.) Six Days in Fallujah could be such a terrible representation of a conflict that no one will mind games like Call of Duty. That said, since Konami dropped the game, can we count on Linde to begin work on Bonerquest: Six Days in Fellatio, Jim not to finish the game before reviewing it, Sammit not to care because there's no sports, Anthony to hate in because he's a pretentious indie fag, and Topher to not pay attention because he's looking at pictures?

Do you think there's any chance the economy will serve to cull some of the shit and shovelware from the market? Or will we see it continue to sell to the masses as they seek relatively inexpensive forms of entertainment?

Could it be a boon to indy developers at least?

It's predicted by marketeers that innovation (for the sake of progress, as mister Sterling stated eloquently quite some time ago) will be the main objective of many industries in the world during 2009. Do you think that games will follow the same trend, will the influence be delayed because of the development cycles or do the rest of the world's markets have no influence on games at all, seeing as it's stated to be "recession proof" as well.

Three questions. Pick any of them.

1.) Have you guys played "Time Flows but Does Not Return" on Xbox Live Community Games? What do you think of it?

2.) What was the greatest game related deal you ever got? Mine was a when I got a Neo-Geo for 5$ at a garage sale.

3.) If you could have sex with any video game character who would it be and why?

While I was browsing the the list of games that are on my 360s hdd, I got to wondering, when did Ikaruga, doom, and Strider be considered "casual" games? Sure gameplay wise there isn't much depth to them in what you do, but when did this change happen? I consider those games to be every bit as "hardcore" as any game released today or does everyone have a different definition on what "hardcore" and "casual" mean? And if a game is considered casual after a length of time, how long is it in your guys opinions? I don't have a determined time limit as long as the gameplay holds up.

Zombies in video games...there's been a whole mess of slow-trodding survival horror fare, the faster-paced friendship test that is Left 4 Dead, and the tongue-in-cheek action variety. While this may be a crude categorization of the genre...what's next? Obviously we'll have Dead Rising 2 and continued Valve support for L4D (not to mention cash-in rehashes in the years to come), but what then? I imagine you'd have an opinion after your pre-L4D release top 10 list a ways back.

Dante's Inferno is a stupid concept. But, it is also hilarious in the complete lack of contextual understanding of what it actually is (please, dear God, let some developer let slip that they envision it as an action-packed trilogy).

What other great works of fiction would you like to see ruined by shoehorning its narrative into stagnant gameplay structures?

Personally I hear good things about Tom Sawyer Kart.
