Jay Leno needs to hurry the hell up and die/retire already so Conan can get The Tonight Show.
Tonight, Jim, Topher, Aaron and I will be discussing Miyamoto's so-called conservatism, hype's place in reviews, and child murder. Two-thirds of the show will be fun for the entire family.
As always, we need your questions and Der Sïëgëlpüntz™ (or Shalitpuns™, for the layman). The best question will get you some cool swag; the best Der Sïëgëlpüntz™ will be read at the top of the show. Hit the jump and get to asking and/or püntzing!
I heard this question asked on RetroforceGO! and thought it was interesting. Has there ever been a game you thought was complete crap but turns out to be a complete masterpiece? One of the games that come to mind when I heard this question was the first Suikoden. The box art was horrendous but the game was so great.
With the US in a recession, would it be wise to spread a virus to turn people into zombies? Zombies don't care what they eat, what it taste or looks like. Zombies don't need to work or hangout, just wonder around. Could zombies be the answer to all our problems?
Would you ever jeopardize your artistic integrity by changing aspects of Boner Quest if it got the dreaded AO rating? and its rob E. styles not damn robe-styles as people like to call me on xbox live.
When I was a kid, everybody played nintendo, some kids played sega, but everyone kind of did. Everyone went to arcades, back when they existed. Sure, some people were more into games than others, but the idea of "videogame cred" was, well, it didn't exist beyond being good at a game.
Some of us continued to play into adulthood, many didn't. There really was no "community" like there is today. Some people were just more into games than others.
My question is: When and how did this whole thing come together. Was it the internet? Was it the more modern hype machine? Well?
I thought of this when scrolling through a websites Oct~Dec new releases, all of a sudden the right column of the list is filled with "$59.99" price tags, why is this fair? did all of em invest the same amount of time developing(design, story, bla bla) the game? this also becomes a double edged sword with games maybe like fallout, LBP and spore come to mind where lots of time has been invested in em, but come on Lego: indiana jones ?
Ever since I've came to college I've had to adjust to living with other females, who tend to be non-gamers. Because of this, I often times censor myself by not playing specific games that I feel that non-gamers would perhaps find offensive. This usually forces me to play games that lack extensive swearing, gratuitous violence, scantly clad women, or horror games, which unfortunately, is about all of my library.
My question is, is there any games that you try to avoid playing in front of non-gamer friends out of embarrassment or simply because they wouldn't understand?
Question: What do you feel when games adds some sort of progress bar, that gives you an indication of how much more of the story you got left? Will it make the ending too anti-climatic, or will it serve as some form of motivation to finish the game just so you can be done with it.
Also, looking forward to staying up during the night, listening to your podcast while the election results comes in. Lets witness history folks!
Topher did you play the gradius level made in littlebigplanet yet? (link attached below)
2. Did any of you guys hear about a game called Atmosphir? It's in open beta right now. Its similar to little big planet but in full 3d but it's not on such a grand of a scale. (Link to site also attached below)

Question: Seeing how Bethesda handled Fallout 3, what developer would you like to see take hold of any given series?
And on the topic of Fallout 3, how do you feel about developers adding karma or morality systems to their games? Do you feel that they add something more to the game or are just unnecessary and a cheap add one. If the choices you can make are not very deep and are just "be nice and get good points" or "be an asshole and get bad points" i feel they are not needed.
Mirror's Edge seems to funnel users into the path that's meant to be taken, sometimes without explicit, runner vision guidance. Half Life 2 did this amazingly, for the most part. Do you think there's something about the First Person View that helps this open, but funneled effect, or is it just great design at work?
Is LBP really the user created revolution, or is it just a fantastic tool for only the most dedicated of designers?
What game, if any, has been able to sell the emotion involved in the death of an average enemy (this means no bosses) so well that you feel a moral dilemma in killing them?
Seagull-Bum: Play Fallout 3 now! By the time you get to Megaton, you'll realize this game is da bomb.
Question: Of all of the big-name, big-acclaim, big-whatever games coming out last slash this slash next month, which one do you tihnk is worst slash stupidest slash you don't want to play it slash you wish you didn't pay for it?

Do you see Mirror's Edge as a game about progressing through story or achieving the perfect run like a shmup? From the demo it was clearly a game of trial and error but everyone seems to think it will be a game more along the lines of Half-Life 2(if that makes any sense). Or more importantly, how will you play it?
I got a question for you guys: As graphic technology gets better with each passing day and we are slipping towards more "realistic-graphics", do you guys feel having life-like human characters and environments will begin to feel less like a game and more like a interactive movie? While I do enjoy pretty graphics and all, but I don't want a game to be so realistic looking that it takes away that videogame look that I grown up with and love.

and here is my question:
Left4Dead?
Wait, what?
Did Fallout 3 satiate your hunger for post apocalyptic satire and Liam Neeson?
Also, Left4Dead?
Now that October's over, what would you guys talk about in your respective FEAR articles? What scares you in games?
Mirror's Edge demo: did it turn you off of the game, or make you want it that much more?
Why are that birds eyes out of Mirror's Edge so slanty?
Are they being racist against Chinkys?
Have Faith on November 11th, you'll be at the Mirror's Edge of your seat.
Have Faith that on November 11th you'll be at the Mirror's Edge of your seat.
Pass the rolled-up dollar bill and snort some coke off this MIRROR'S EDGE.
Also, as Tiff wisely brought up, please use the Masturbating Bear theme.

You would have to be living in some kind of vault to not be playing Fallout 3.

One for each of you.
Just a quick update about it, it is being worked on. Won't be long before everyone gets to play the Bonerquest.
And if you read all that, please read the tagline as well
"Will you accept the Bonerquest?"
Your family will be FALLING OUT over Fallout 3
or
There's no game on this LITTLE BIG PLANET like LittleBigPlanet
Also
Left4Dead?
And finally
Fallout 3
If you're playing it, how are you playing it?
Good, just roaming or playing as a total cock?
Be careful, out there.
A-fucking-men.
