er

You're looking at one of two -- count 'em, two -- variant headline pictures for this week's Podtoid. The above 3D rendering of The Blogocube, created by Gynecologist Cobra, is sexier than most Mac ads.

Head to the official Podtoid page not only to check out this week's show, but to see Ashley Davis's illustration of a rivalry as old as time itself.

This week, Chad Concelmo and Topher Cantler dropped by to fill the voids left by Bastard McHatesOcarinaOfTime and Floozy O'Doesn'tPlayVideogames. In what may be the first ever episode of PodtoidForceGO!, Chad, Topher, Jim and I discussed the following:

Topher and Jim are best friends

A urine-soaked Miyamoto

Chad Concelmo: Next-gen ejaculator

Nobody agrees with Wardrox

Next week's sonnet/illustration theme will be "Jim versus a Giraffe"

This week, KMCC won the $25 for his remarkably intelligent question concerning videogame sales and the recession. Just put your email in the comments to get your stimulus package.

Anyway, yeah. What are you waiting for? Go listen. I apologize in advance, Droll

[The song used is "Just a Friend" by Biz Markie.]

I don't know if I even want to listen to it now.
When you're already apologizing in the post about the podcast?
Man! I'm disheartened.

I call conspiracy. For some reason Jim "ran out of time" to talk about the BioShock movie on the podcastle.

You win! You pronounced my name correctly this time. I guess that's what I get for coming up with a name like this...

Thanks Anthony, do you mind if I send my email directly to you instead of in the comments?

Oh no, another contest winner with no avatar! (I'll get one eventually)

also "these are his words not mine [insert not his words here]"...

*shakes fist more*

I agree with what you said, though I wasn't saying a film of the game would be good. I was saying a film based around the ideas, themes, story and feel etc of the game would be good, and could be successful.

I thought it was "blogosphere" that was too next-gen for Aaron Linde, not "blogoverse".

droll with the assist on the Oregon Trail question :)

We talked about how that would actually work one day at lunch. make it sort of a rogue-like progression, but have money carry over to new "family members" that start out at certain checkpoints that are user populated. It was ridiculous, and almost sounded playable by the time we were done.

then again, it was still far more complicated than Oregon trail ever has to be.

Oregon Trail on cell phones would be sweet, though.

When I heard the high and mighty Reverend Anthony and his cadre of industry insiders throw aside my questions- my innocent, enthusiastic, beautiful questions!- I went to a dark place.
In the blackest corners of my psyche, there arose such a fire which I had never seen in my life! Being tossed aside by madmen, fuled by pure ego, sitting on their high hourses with their Hudson Minigame collections for the Wii- It was more than my fragile mind could control!
I became a savage, desperatly hoping to find something-some little force in this world-that I could Dominate!
So I took my seething rage, and my condensed hate, and I directed it.....at my ECONOMICS FINAL!
And I think I did pretty well too.
In all honesty, Anthony, I was just looking for a way to participate in the Podcasts and, by proxy, with the community. I didn't mean to be a jerk, and I didn't mean to come across as anything other than enthusiastic. I just really love games, and I love hearing reasoned discussion about the industry(when so much discussion is directed towards pointless console factionalism and the like).
So That's that.
So That's That.

I didn't at all think you were being a jerk -- your enthusiasm was just surprising, and overwhelming. I couldn't decide which question to read aloud, there were so many. I just chose the path of cowardice and had to look away. You can totally ask any of those questions again in successive weeks, though.

BTW, the whole "WoW Blood Plague" wasn't anything intended Blizzard. A boss would cast this spell on your character and it would spread to all allies around you.

There was a bug with it though. If a Warlock's pet managed to get it, he was able to desummon his pet, but the pet would still have the debuff.

What one smart feller did was take his pet and summoned him in a main city. Luckily, he had youtube also rolling.

Of course, hilarity ensued, and Blizzard had hotfixed it by the next day.

That was a hilarious episode. Jim Sterling should be a guest on RetroforceGo! one time so that he can make fun of every game they talk about and the banter back and forth will be funny.

Topher's retort to Jim was just plain awesome

it was kind of like this (role reversal for the fat guy and thin guy)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMT9eXL7GAk

also it seems Topher has learned a new move:
Berries and Cream - targeted English Man gets served

as oppose to his other move:
Set the Table - gets served targeted Asian Girl
