This has been one hell of a week for me. First, I heard a multitude of really badass codec conversations between Chad Concelmo and the cast of Metal Gear Solid. Then, I saw several friggin' awesome illustrations of Gentleman Dinosaur (the above concept art comes courtesy of Ashley Davis, while AgentMOO actually added a GD character to AMMO). Finally, right before the show began, I had the pleasure of reading some hilariously clever dino-related poetry.

So, yeah. Good week to be a podcast host.

Anyway, this week's episode (which can be found here) was another random collection of news and skullduggery. Highlights included:

Good show, here's something cute, if you like "so ugly it's adorable"... I think they look about the same as bulldog puppies, but with some crazy spikes....... Baby Hedgehogs FTW!

awesome picture. i am intrigued by mirrors edge but do agree, the shit ain't out, i can't have an opinion of something i've never "experienced' first hand. i can hype myself up but with no prior judgement other then a 2 minute video how can someone call it game of the century/year/millennium. you haven't played it yet! as a carpenter we use a term called "finished product", that means it can change 26 fncking times but until its at that almost perfect stage, its not done. finished product is what the home owner will see and judge, not a unpainted sheet of drywall just hung and saying this looks terrible, blaw blaw blaw.

Regarding writing about games with non-gamers as your audience, I think Brian Crecente did a nice job of this with this article about the experience of playing through Grand Theft Auto IV.

Hey, hey, hey! What's with the dissing of those of us who are color blind? Besides, there are different types of color blindness, some more severe than others. Fortunately, I have a mild version that only causes problems for a few shades of particular colors. I take it that Reverend Anthony has a really bad case of color-blindness?

Also, I'm glad that you specified conservative pundits. As a gamer and a conservative, I despise the vilification of gamers and think that Glenn Beck is a massive blow-hard on this particular issue. Hell, even RUSH LIMBAUGH said last year that gamers are not to blame for real violence in our world, and that each person is responsible for his/her own actions. THAT is what a conservative's view is supposed to be. Glenn Beck was pushing for ratings. That's all.

I also think that Jack Thompson is also a waste of human skin.

Also, does anyone else get the sense that they're are a TON of color blind people who play Video Games? Maybe that's just super ignorant, but it seems like there are more colr blind people in this medium than in other artistic medium?
Also, Twilight Princess isn't as good as Ocerina of Time: Twilight Princess is IDENTICAL to Ocerina of Time. OOT did everything nearly 8 years before Twilight Princess did, and actually had MORE content than Twilight Princess, between the wonderful music system , and the secret weapons, and the more interesting level design.
Twilight Princess is probally the least good Zelda Game since Majora's Mask!
Though I do agree that those Oracle of Seasons/Ages are great game boy color games. It was so cool to see Capcom provide a neat twist to the classic franchise!

Oh somebody said what I have been saying since 1998!.

"Ocarina of time Is the worst zelda".

The NES and SNES games were way better the N64 games sucked.

Somebody said it about time! I have been saying it for years.

The music in the n64 was damn annoying as all hell and not worthy of the NES or SNES zelda games.

I wanted to kill that damn fairy forget the dog from Duck Dunt the N64 zelda fairy is the most annoying thing nintendo has ever produced.

After hours of hearing "HEY" "Listen" from the n64 horrible sound hardware oh wait.. it had no sound hardware no wonder why the music and voices sucked!

Oh and "jim" (was that his name?) Pc gamers hate you too. I play on PC and I hate you and I hate console people too. Especially the ones playing good PC games in a worse fashion on there consoles like call of duty 4, orange box and bioshock.
