Tus ojos son como la luna. Tu cara es como un perro.
This week we ("we" being the usual suspects -- Sterling, Chow, Linde and myself) be talking about a whole assload of random news-related stuff, as we are wont to do. Stuff about Spitzer, Brawl, swag, and the Holocaust will probably be discussed in some form or another.
As always, we need reader questions: ideally, reader questions which have nothing to do with any of the aforementioned subjects. This is a random, scattershot week, so we'd like random, scattershot (but still relevant and thought-provoking) questions.
This is basically a much nicer way of asking you not to ask nothing but Brawl-related questions.
Anyway, best question gets $25, etcetera etcetera. I'm going to get back to writing my review of the next Sam and Max episode while watching the Sam and Max animated series DVD and doing all number of other things related to Sam and Max.
What video game character best represents the presidential candidates running right now?
This made me wonder, we are always thinking about wether or not games are art but what do you think people on the outside believe? To them are games just things, "those kids do." or do they think games are art.
Name the best book/movie/comic book story that can be adapted into a game and how would you make it not suck. (Like all movie adaptations do and how comic adaptations are just arcade beat-em-ups with awful stories)
And where's my flying car at? I'd settle for a hoverboard.
Also, Bioshock 2, yey or ney?
Settop gaming existed in the Sega Channel(Scientific Atlanta) but didn't take off. Stay in a hotel lately? Many places allow you to play games from your room using the same idea.
Also, I think I remember Pace buying rights to Sega's Dreamcast hardware and there being a rumored dreamcast settop from them that never saw the light of day.
Also, your Spanish is not so broken.
I imagine that when IPTV hits and every home has access to a larger data pipe it would be viable, but at that point, MS and Sony will likely be the settop provider.. isn't what they are positioning themselves for with their newer platforms anyway? Good question; it got me thinking.
have you played an awesome game but the main character (or party character for RPGs) is just total fail? I mean a character so bad that the game would be infinitely better without that character's inclusion?
Discuss,
Also would a classic style Sam & Max game on the DS rock?
You know it's true :)
When you you think the next Real* next gen zombie game will be coming?
*Not a resident evil remake/spin-off/fodder or RE5.
Left 4 dead doesn't can because those are "Crazies" and not Zombies, They're still alive and can be taken down without headshots.
More to the point: would you be interested in a game involving political struggles, where you fight for/against special interests, scandals, and see if you can procure funding for your mayoral/gubernatorial/congressional/presidential campaign?
I remember in 2000, I was a Bush supporter (though too young to vote back then), because Al Gore's running mate was Joe Lieberman. I remember seeing letters to gaming magazines that professed essentially the same logic, and other gamers talking about it.
Check Republic: The Revolution for the PC. It's flawed as hell, for sure, but nothing beats having a team of muscle busting in to an dissident author's home, carrying out his life's work as he sobs by the door.
Will Brawl provide a competitive scene equal to that of Melee, or will the truly hardcore continue to play Melee similarly to how competitive gaming has stuck with CS 1.6 instead of upgrading to CS:Source?
Does Square Enix's announcement this week to reduce the amount of localisation times mean that we're just going to get shorter gaps between Japanese and western releases, or shorter gaps and more engrish?

Do you think that advertising belongs in games at all? Where in the game? and What companies should be allowed to do so?
My opinion is still very uneven but id like to know what you think.
Will we end up seeing a broken down McDonalds or Nike billboard in Silent Hill ? Fuck I hope not.
What (playable) character was excluded from Brawl that you wanted in (and realistically had a shot)?
And what with all the nice Mother/Earthbound goodies in the game, do you think Nintendo will ever bring that series to North America?
FF CC ROF VS. FF 7 CC
Crystal Chronicles or Crisis Core? Which would you rather buy?
Or would you rather shoot yourself than buy either?
I specifically ask this question because I know it's going to set Jim off.
I liked Resident Evil on the Hamcube (the typo looked cool so I left it), but certain elements that were obviously designed to create fear just pissed me off. The saving method for instance, is stupid for various reasons. If you had been given a limited number of quicksaves, and an infinite number of safe-room saves, the game would have been much, much better, easier to pick up and more engaging. The control scheme, the cutscenes and the inventory were all guilty of the same thing.
I believe one good way to create fear is through illusion. I loved the beginning of Penumbra Overture because you had no weapons to speak of, and you had no idea what the monsters looked like or how they'd kill your, etc. Games like this take away elements that you're comfortable with, and that makes you uncertain.
If you didn't see my comment on Jim's review, you guys should have a segment where the review, and the comments are discussed. If somebody hated the game for example, other people can talk to them and have a discussion as to why.
Videogame related: Cat sims or Dog sims? OR NO SIMS?
Also, how many times will Tiff get interrupted, this week?
Also, also, if you're discussing the Holocaust, will Nex be a special guest star? He makes genocide delightful.
