Podtoid 45: Jihad for kids
by Reverend Anthony on 02.28.2008 31 comments

erer

This week's Podtoid is as random and meandering as they come, but it's still got some good bits. Head to the official Podtoid page or check your iTunes to listen to the latest episode. In it, Jim, Aaron, Tiff and I discussed such wide-ranging topics as:

Our favorite GDC moments: None of them even remotely game-related!

The death of HD DVD: When I want to edit something out, I make everyone shut up for ten seconds straight so I can easily find the silence in post!

Delicious, delicious hypocrisy: Actual debate ensues!

Current game cliches we want to die: I speak without thinking and make a jackass of myself!

This week, SuitCoatAvenger won the $25 for asking a question which warranted a hell of a lot of discussion without being too big for its metaphorical britches. I will email you and get your contact info.

[The intro/outro is the opening monologue from the only really, truly great film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards in at least 20 years.]

Pretty good, but would have been better with a Clarence Thomas picture, even if you aren't discussing him in your podcast.

My iTunes is currently suckling the digital Podtoid milk from the podcast machine's supple teat, as we speak. I eagerly await.

(I'm sorry for typing that.)

That Doctor looks like Colin Meloy or something. Dwight Schrute's a good comparison, too. And, Anthony, that expression is the best thing I've ever seen. You look like you're swallowing an invisible cat.

Oh, and the animation is delayed for the RFGO sprites. Just wanna point that out.

I agree...Jim Sterling calling Reggie the Hamburgler with Sausage hands (or something like that) was hilarious!

Awesome listening, actually made me late for a trip to a University Open House thing I was supposed to go to.
Luckily the open house was shit anyways.

I had to agree with Sterling here: I love a lot of indie games to death, but the general atmosphere of pretension can go fuck itself.

I don't think Digital Downloads will catch on for a while. Hard drives can fail, disks are a physical copy where, if you fuck it up, you can fix it (unless your a complete fucktard).

Also, a majority of the older generations will have difficulty dealing with computers and the idea of not having something to hold for their purchase.
