Are the much touted "high costs" of next-gen development a significant barrier to the progression of games as a creative medium? That is to say, it looks like '08 will see a few titles that are compelling <i>twists</i> on existing archetypes, a fuck-ton of slick shooters and then an assortment of the other usual stuff.
Does the next-gen struggle between first parties and publishers/developers alike keep us Bruckheimered?
