I can assume that you all are excited about 300 coming out soon.

Do you think it was a mistake to have the 300 video game a PSP exclusive? Do you think enough people will buy it? Will it make people buy a $200 handheld?

i noticed that joysuq has a podcast now... not wanting to either puke or physically hurt myself there is no way i can listen to it. I would love to hear your feelings on what they discuss...

my feelings:
- the launch of the n64; can nintendo keep up its amazing success of the snes
- How could they possible promote a game like smb3 with a movie like the wizard

I think I'm going to play devil's advocate this time:

This one is specifically for a Mr. Rob Summa. If you could travel back in time and prevent Nintendo from creating the Wii as we presently know it, and instead force them to produce a console that has HD but with just a standard controller, would you do it? Why or why not?

And another question to get to know a bit about you guys:

Throughout your entire lifetime, which console (or handheld) have you devoted the most time to?

There was recently the marry, fuck, kill article with the next gen consoles. Which console would you Marry? Fuck? Kill? Take out for a nice seafood dinner and never call back?

Everyone on Dtoid is constantly wondering how Summa's life is going, so How is CA treating you Summa?

How did you (Summa) feel when Kevin P. on the loop mispronounced your name?

You go back in time and either have to kill Queen or AC/DC, who do you kill?

Did (or will) Ron invite any Dtoiders to the wedding? Linde as best man? Nex as flower girl? Summa as embarrasing/drunk uncle?

Do you think that the XBox and Playstation have switched places from the last generation? The XBox (non-circular) had the better graphics but didn't have the wider acceptance, but the PS2 (with shittier graphics but all the momentum, and the earlier street date) dominated all. This gen, the Xbox 360 hit first, was cheaper, and has blown the doors off of everyone. The Wii is sort of unprecedented...but the people that are buying the Wii are either a) not going to buy another console regardless of the wii or b) going to buy a 'big boy' console too...and would have anyway, regardless of the Wii. What do you guys think? Accurate? Follow the analogy, and PS3 might have some killer apps, just like Xbox had Halo, but most of the best stuff will be a port. Do you think the game companies are going to learn from this gen, and what will they learn?

1) Do any of you feel that multiplayer is overshadowing single player in general? Should it be?

2) With the advent of the Internet, have gamers become lazier in general? Since we can figure out the answer to any puzzle or section of a game with a simple search, have we become spoiled?

I just bought a 360 and was wondering why was the PS3 even created? I am gonna be able to go this whole generation with my 360 and my Wii, and not miss much.

Also I love the community nights that are going on. Any more ideas for some of the other days of the week?

Any of you guys play the new Sonic(Wii) yet?

hey, serious question. I don't know if you guys can answer this, you might need some nerd props. I am hoping Summa and Workman don't shit on this.

Everybody knows that Nintendo have the most recognizable characters. Mario is the most recognized character in the world. They also have Link and Metroid as big characters. Microsoft sort of have a "mascot" with Master Chief but Sony has never really had one.

So to the question, i think. What are your guys' favorite "iconic" character, on any system, old or new. And what newerish character do you think will become iconic in the future and what about them makes them able to become iconic?

and to sort of answer my own question, Kratos is one of the few NEW characters that i really want to play more with and has the potential to become a real character that a lot of people recognize and cherish.

Could the Wii help sell more 360s and PS3?

Just to elaborate a little more- I skipped over much of the previous two console generations and was a casual gamer at best during those times. Half a year ago I bought a DS and then I picked up the Wii on launch day. Shortly after, I picked up a slim PS2 to play me some Guitar Hero. A week ago I bought a 360. And it is fucking awesome. And I don't think I'd have made the jump without first buying off on the pick-up-and-play nature of the DS or Wii.

Nintendo made me love gaming again.

Could it be that the Wii is just the entry-level-console/gateway-drug that turns casual gamers into hardcore gamers?

Would you rather have a free online service (like Sony) or a subscription service (like MS)?

I think if you pay money to play online, you have made an investment that you must protect. If you are a dick or if you cheat, you will probably (eventually) get your LIVE account banned and have to pay to create a new account. Also, you'll lose all of your achievements. I think MS has created a model that is self-governing in nature.

With Sony, there is nothing stopping you (achievements or money) from creating an ID just for cheating or being a dick. If you get caught or get your account banned, you can just go set up another one for free?

Is free really so great?
