OK, so last week was a disaster. Not quite a Sony PR disaster, but pretty damn close and we have since pulled Podtoid 19 from the history books. We hope to have much better recording materials this time and make it up to you with a spectacular Podtoid 19.5.
Got questions for the crew? Then let us know.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
but, do you guys think it is ok for casual gamers to call themselves gamers. Or people that only play WoW or only play CS? should they be able to consider themselves gamers if they only play Madden and Halo?
do you guys care when video games or game ideas are copied or ripped off? (e.g. all the crap GTA clones?)
Also will there be any West coast events now that Summa is here? SD Comic Con maybe?
What would you talk about? How much would you make fun of him?
Get that dude on the podcast he has earned it!!
Yeah I have 19 on my iTunes it was bad.
Do you see yourselves ever making a living just doing destructoid?
How did greybush do on his wedding night?
What big announcments do you expect from the GDC?
You go back in time and either have to kill AC/DC or Queen, who do you kill?
(i spelled it right this time, Nex, so eat my shit.)
You mentioned you were a big RPG fan, which was your reason for being so into linear games. My question is have you played any of the non-linear CRPGS of the late 90's? I'm talking about the Fallout series (which is similar to Oblivion in its level of linearty, with oodles of sidequests as well as a main quest), Planescape torment, Baldur's Gate, and obviousy Morrowind.
All of these games came out in the 90's I believe, some even in the early Nineties, and all had very similar levels of linearty to Oblivion. Whenever I hear people glorifying Oblivion for being so non-linear, I always try to reccomend these classic games because they are still loads of fun. In my opinion, the most non-linear CRPG I've ever played, even more than Oblivion, was Fallout 2. In Oblivion, you're very dependent on combat sometimes, but in Fallout, while it might be difficult, you could get by with a very charismatic and intellingent character design.
So my question is: As a fan of RPG's, have you played any of these non-linear RPG's? Have you enjoyed them? Some are obvioulsy more linear than others, but I find it interesting how most of the greatest CRPG's of the nineties were of the non-linear kind. It seems to me that CRPG fans really dig this kind of non-linear style of play, so your comment really confused me. Hope the audio works well this time! Keep the podcasts rollin'
And your comment about the Choose Your Own Adventure books is SO much like Fallout. so yeah... basically Fallout is the greatest game evar.
and dont you guys realize the east coast is where its at? im looking at you, Mr. Summa.
"east coast! fuck you!"
What game do you think would translate nicely into a movie version, and which director/producer would do justice to it?
And to clear things up, I like Nex's voice, but I like Rob Summa's physique. ^_^
Also, why do i love summa, but i want to fucking shove a lit tnt stick down his fucking throght?
Also, why am i puppets only fan?
Yes and so am I.
Got a problem with that?
now that sony will almost surely unviel playstation home soon, where do you think that puts nintendo? will they be doomed to forever have the worst online experience of the big three before they even fully launch it? if nintendo's online turns out to essentially be just an extension of the ds wifi connection, complete with friend-codes, should they even bother?
also, what do you think about the playstation home thing? if it really is what kotaku says it is, don't you think that would be taking the copy-cat thing a little too far?
please discuss this... thanks.
is it A.Nintendo
B.Sony
C.Microsoft
NRAMA: Finally, before we let you go, what is interesting you/what are you working on outside the realm of comic book publishing?
MM: Like all my pals, the TV and movie people have come calling and even the computer game people (which is weird because games are for pedos and I have no interest).
Is Millar just being ignorant, joking, or trolling? Any thoughts?
And what do you think of Bethesda "toning down" the humor in Fallout 3?
There's more Dtoid IN pornstars then pornstars on Dtoid.
Bam ba lam!
Also on a more game-related note:
-Can we expect the number of PR events Rob will attend and info he'll glean to increase from his west-coast move?
-What do you predict will be the "next big selling point" of next-gen?
-What do you think about the "color" scheme of this gen. Everything is a muddy brown trying to be apocalyptic and war-torn. (ie Gears) Is it maybe time to move away from the dismalness and get back into some color?
-How's the Dtoid clan coming along?
What did you think?
And do you think that there will ever be games released on XBLA that were designed by amateur programmers using the newly released XNA Game Studio Express?
Adam Sessler should be on a podcast, mostly because I think it'd be awesome. Since you've already had Victor and Tommy, Adam would be one of my favorite G4 people, and since he's one of the only members of G$ that actually does play games, it'd make for a good podcast.
If you see him at GDC, drug him, gag him, and then force him to do the podtoid!
