I nearly spit out my coffee when Holmes said he couldn't understand why someone would return to high fantasy and Tolkein-esque worlds more than once every ten years. Considering he likes returning to Hyrule far more often than that, it was a very surprising sentiment.

Ah, the fighting game community is definitely a 'special' bunch. I consider myself competitive to an extent when it comes to Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, but I don't lose myself. When it comes to the point where you start to use the characters you don't like rather than ones you don't just to win you're playing for the wrong reasons. Blame tiers for that, they sadly do exist Holmes. They just don't mean much, unless your name is Phoenix Wright.
I understand the plight of the Mega Man fans though, Capcom was definitely trolling. That doesn't mean that it wasn't hilarious though.
Also, competitive Pokemon is the worst. screw that noise. Choose the Pokemon that look cool, stats don't matter THAT much. So yeah, good episode guys.

MuddBstrd - I never said that the problem was that those games offer "more of the same". If you like that kind of game world, you wont mind it being more of the same. The problem is, I don''t like that kind of game world that much, certainly not enough to play one more than one every few years.
As for Hyrule, it changes a lot every iteration, unlike most Tolkien-esque games, which all tend to look like CGI Lord of the Rings movies. If the world of Twilight Princess looked and felt like Wind Waker, and if Wind Waker looked and felt just like Majora's Mask, I probably would have been far less enchanted with all of those games.
Skyward Sword was sort of a combination of all 3, which made it completely awesome, though I'm hoping the next Zelda game takes things in a super weird direction.

Here's the big irony: I listened to this while practicing high level of Iron Man combos in UMvC3. I agree with a lot of the things said though.

As I was listening to this, I was pacticing for a starcraft 2 weekly tourament. The only only reason why djwheat got mad or whatever was because most of what she said was eother lies or had no research behind it. I dont know much about the fighting game community. But the starcraft 2 community is the nicest community i have been apart of.
Holmes, I think it's pretty easily explained why you were banned from the MGTOW forums. As Jim said, the admin probably found out you were linking the post, and that you have a connection to Dtoid. Because of your connection to Dtoid, he probably thought you were trolling, and hence banned you.
After listening to this, I decided to disable my Adblock for Dtoid. I have done it for other sites, but I hadn't even considered doing it for Dtoid before now. I'm glad that you guys don't force the disabling upon us like some other sites do (ScrewAttack is an example. I love SA, and actually found out about Dtoid through them, but it's annoyed me for awhile that you are unable to view their content without disabling ABP). So thank you for that choice, and I will choose to support you guys.

I've never really had an opinion on gender issues. I try not to take a man's word over a woman's (or vice versa) as doing so would be close-minded, but I've been trying to get a better perspective on the issue from this whole debate going on in Podtoid.
The thing is, this "Greg" guy for the most part seems pretty insightful, and the strongest arguments Jim made against him were reading Greg's quotes in a silly voice. Really, Jim? I thought you were better than that. I'm honestly trying to learn the truth from these discussions, yet you're refusing to add anything intellectual to the debate. I kind of lost respect for your point of view after that, and while I can relate with most of the arguments you make on the Jimquisition and elsewhere, I'm now more inclined to doubt your ideas whenever you fail to back up your opinions with fact and logic.
