Podtoid 120: You just suck at games photo

This week's Podtoid is about Demon's Souls, a really long games of the week segment, and Double Down Browntown. I'd make that a link to Phallus Knife Fight's picture, but...you're better off finding that thing on your own.

Or not at all.

The best question this week came from the guy who emailed us (who I won't name because he didn't include an online handle). Just send us another email with your mailing address, guy, and we'll try to get some Dtoid stuff sent your way.

Honestly, am I the only one that pictured a female Samit in the middle of a poker game deciding weather to double down or not and Anthony and everyone else on the Podtoid crew(except Jim who is the dealer) yelling "DOUBLE DOWN BROWNTOWN!!"?

I honestly have not needed a strategy guide for Demon's Souls, but I'm not worried about unlocking every cool thing. I think the idea is.. you get to New Game + and do a lot of things you didn't do before. The game isn't just about the first play through, I don't think.

Yep! Depending on how you beat it, you either get a game changing spell or a full fledged PVP mode. Amazing!

Demon's Souls kept me up till 2:30 this week, and I have a real job, a wife and kids. I couldn't go to sleep with those bastard black phantoms killing me. This game is the gauntlet of all games as far as testing your will. But I will win, you will see Boleteria, I will be renown...oh yes it will happen.

Also, I said most people don't do Tower Knight second; but I was just noting that you can go do other things. I killed him second, but a lot of people think of him and the dual gargoyles as the hardest bosses in the game, so they wait to fight them.

I guess I didn't present my point very well.

@Magnalon, Honestly I don't think there are any hard bosses they are all easy if done right Tower Knight has to be the easiest. Dual Gargoyles are pretty easy too. All you need to beat the Tower Knight is either a bow or a magic spell or both if you don't have enough mana.

Dual Gargoyles you just use the brazer in the middle of the bridge to block there attacks.

Every boss has a trick, it's almost like a win button once you figure it out. I honestly have lost some interest in the co-op because of how easy the monsters are especially when I get into someone's world and they have pure white or white where as I'm use to pure black.

Concerning the TOYSRUS deal, Best Buy is honoring this deal as well via price match as long as you have a TOYsRUs local to that Best Buy. That is where I got Brutal Legend and 2 copies of Uncharted. (A buddy and I split the cost of the games, so $40 a piece.) This ends Saturday evening.

Agreed. I never thought the Maneaters were that hard, but that's what I hear from others. Also, when I say "Tower Knight is one of the hardest", I meant with melee tactics.

Yea. Some are through Freke, some are through Yuria, and others are through the extra blacksmith in 2-1. Give the Red Hot Demon's Soul to the blacksmith in 2-1; talk to him until he takes it.

i feel much the same way about this game, and it's good to hear so many people verbalizing similar things. i really have wanted to hate this game, but i just keep coming back for more and more.

i think it's one of the more inspired aspects of demon's souls is that it feels like from software/atlus are saying hey it's all of you against this game. i felt the same way about a lot of the details. i mean the whole "how the hell would i have known to do that?" it feels like atlus, with the notation system and internet as it's own community guide, are trying to make a real community out of all the people throwing controllers together.

So about trading games, will you please put Indigo Prophecy back on active trading for goozex? I'm first in line and it had timed out when it came up for trading when we had matched.

Never gotten to play it and heard great things about it, hoping to play through it before heavy rain to get a better idea what to expect.

This is from a while ago, but I only just started checking out Podtoid.

Anyways. All this stuff about the 360 dying and people continuing to buy them because they have nowhere to go, even though the hardware is crap... boo hoo.

Get a gaming PC. Problem solved. All of them.
