Re: Nightmare on Elm Street - Johnny Depp's career is the only one that got out alive.

Topher - If Mickey comes out too light, I'd blame Eisner-Disney before blaming Nintendo, even though both try too hard to appear squeeky clean. I miss Walt. Dude had a dark side.

Samit - I understand where you're coming from, but you don't wait for everything to go to shit before complaining that it's going to shit. It's like saying "eventually I have to drive home, but I'm not drunk yet so who cares".

I think Podtoid 119 is going to be broadcast in this new surround stereo fad (where available), that I've been hearing about.

sweetchuck, I always found it interesting that Disney in the 1980s and 1990s, in their attempts to revive the failing Disney, set itself up as this wholesale American tradition and legacy when an examination of Disney's early work, particularly prior to World War II when they took a massive financial hit, shows otherwise. There is a maturity and darkness in Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi that is really not compatible with the wholesome image they have pushed in recent years.

That was the age of the gentleman, best decade ever.

Any iTunes users have the same issue as me??

http://feeds.feedburner.com/podtoid is apparently not valid anymore? I have used it for the last year, and I unsubscribed and resubscribed and nothing!
After all of that, I went and searched for "podtoid" in the iTunes store, and subscribed that way, and it's still giving me the same shit.

Brad's introduction was rather interesting this week.

I never rely on iTunes to get the newest Podtoid early anymore.
It doesn't require much effort to see the pattern of when it gets released.

I'm afraid I too am having the iTunes issue. At first I assumed it was because I've now migrated EVERYTHING on my computer over to Windows 7 and there was some issue with it for some stupid reason.

In regards to the FTC topic: I understand the concern that you are feeling about the government sticking the hands in your pants, however the examples that were given in this business week article (http://bit.ly/2uqVqq) show that there are very specific outlines and guides that are setup to protect people like those destructoiders. What this law, in short, is trying to protect consumers by making paid endorsements stated as paid endorsements. I, as a consumer, see no harm in this issue because if I'm reading Jim's continuing coverage of the PSPgo, I would love to know that he has a sack of gold sitting on his stained carpet with the Microsoft logo on it. The twitter reference in that Business Week article is a perfect example. These people follow this dude because they like his opinions and then one day he starts tweeting about some TV show that he's been paid to do, it should be disclosed. Unfortunately, people aren't smart enough to look through blatant promotion unless they are being told. The internet is a big scary place full of sheisters trying to get a hold of your grandparent's money because they think everything on the internet is true. At some point, safeguards are going to have to be put into place and you should be thankful that it's the FTC and not the Department of Homeland Security.

Then take a website like AOLTIMEWERNER JOYSTIQ. Shouldn't they have to disclose which games they are giving good reviews to because AOLTW has some kind of hand in? Even if I am on my personal blog and Jim Sterling comes to me with a box full of candybars and cocaine and says "Hey buddy, for this crate of crack you should tell everyone that I'm the best reviewer at Destructoid and my continuing and hilarious hatred of the PSPgo has nothing to do with my sack of MSMoney sitting on my stained carpet" I am no longer a "hobbyist" I am a professional, because I just got paid to inflict my opinion on the masses.

Kudos for mentioning Lost Odyssey! Man, I thought I was the only one who liked that game considering all the JRPG hate that happens here. Granted it's kind of a dated game by now, but still...I loved that game.

Not to be that guy that corrects something said in regular conversation, but don bluth didn't direct sleeping beauty, and most of the style of the cartoon comes from the production design of Eyvind Earle http://www.eyvindearle.com/TheWork.aspx Check out his oil painting for some easily recognizable work.

All of the AOL Blogs, Joystiq included, disclose when they are talking about something related to AOLTW, whether it is a post about a product, game or service. Next time you read a Joystiq post related to AOL, look near the end of the post for a "Disclosure" paragraph.

I'm not sure why you guys think that Little Mermaid was the last classically hand drawn Disney movie. "Home on the Range" in 2004 was the last one to be made so it actually wasn't that long ago to be honest.
