Please be true: Alan Wake rumored to be out in May photo

Horror/thriller game fans, it's been a long wait. During the last E3, when it was announced that Alan Wake would be ready in time for a spring 2010 release, I was just happy to hear the game wasn't vaporware.

But now, I'm no so sure. This has been such a painful wait -- we deserve something more specific than a broad time frame. If what a source told MCV is correct, the game may see a worldwide release in May.

What's more, the site was told Alan Wake will be promoted "in the style of a Hollywood movie." Considering the game's television show-esque structure, that sounds plausible.

Usually for games like this, you'll hear people say "as long as it's good, it'll be worth the wait." Generally speaking, I subscribe to that viewpoint, but come on. It's been, what, nearly five years now? Let's go, Remedy!

This game has been in development since before the Xbox 360 came out, I believe. It's about time they finish up.

This game had better look like sex. If it isn't pure awesomeness, they're going to have some explaining to do.

The gameplay footage over at GT is pretty intense. First clip he walked around, got shot at once or twice, and then walked some more. For the second video, he walked around, then hid behind a rock for a second, then walked even more. This is xxxtreme

It'll be three months before we get any other news.

@Arianol - Ummm that's a pretty broad statement. Considering there are 75 year olds doing it right now. You should probably clarify what exactly you mean by, "This game had better look like sex."

I'm just saying dude.

I haven't minded the wait for this game. There have been way too many great games to play since I first heard about it years ago. It's just a faint blip on the radar.

Between Demon's Souls, Dragon Age, Borderlands, and Brutal Legend (not to mention Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno, GOW3) I'm probably going to busy until May anyway.

Fuck you Remedy for promising this would be on PC and fuck you Microsoft for pushing this game as a huge title for Games for Windows. I hope every Xbox that plays this game explodes for taking my PC title away.

mrsatan,

I didn't realise they'd decided not to do the PC version, the fuckwits. I hate MS for that.

I don't have a problem with exclusives as such, but when you're told there is going to be a PC version & then MS gets it's wallet out & suddenly it's vanished...that's annoying.

Also sequels. Fable is a PC game. When the hell are they going to release Fable II for the PC? Ever?

I'm still not buying a 360.
