PlayStation Vita will get an optional external battery photo

The PlayStation Vita is said to have a battery life of between three to five hours, which is right about what most of us were expecting. On the off chance one of you gets locked in a room for six hours with a Vita, there's hope yet: the handheld will get an external battery.

Not much about the accessory has come out of Tokyo Game Show, but it is confirmed to be a 5000 mAh battery and should be shipping out in spring 2012. Let's hope it isn't going to cost too much. (It totally will.)

PSVita external battery’s capacity to be 5000mAh, 9 – 15h of playtime in total [I'm Portable]
