Hmmm... Ill make this as short as possible. You seemed raged about this whole vita tgs thing.
So... Looks at 3ds with its capabilities and graphics. Then looks at psvita. Wttf its embarassing that the 3ds has the same battery life as the vita.
"Wttf its embarassing that the 3ds has the same battery life as the vita."
Er... no, it doesn't. At least It doesn't seem so, since the 3 hour minimum on the 3DS is with all features turned on and brightness at maximum.
On the Vita, the minimum is with brightness at default, without network play, bluetooth and using earphones. We can assume it would drop with everything on.
The iPad is one of the only modern gadgets with an LCD screen that has acceptable battery life and that's only because its an iPod with a gigantic battery stuck on.
Really if we're so damn advanced and technologically evolved like everyone is saying lately, everything should get a month on a charge like the Kindle. But clearly our tendency to shove arbitrary eye candy into things vastly outstrips our ability to invent decent battery technology.
The Vita on the other hand has loads, so some extra juice would've been handy.
Is your tablet PC capable of playing video games?
If so I doubt your battery would last an hour. My 2010 ACER laptop with a 6-cell Li-ion battery get's just under 2 hours of HD resolution gaming (Deus-Ex: HR in 720p comes to mind).
Can not wait for buy a Vita!
Still really fucking embarrassing if you ask me. What you are saying that both handhelds have a 3 hour battery life with all capabilities on max, and look at the number of features you listed compared to the 3ds lol. Reallllly fucking sad. But as I said battery issue isn't an issue to me, for both 3ds and vita.
May as well play a CONSOLE and avoid a cramped neck and hands since the PSV's claim to fame is "bringing the console experience to a handheld".
Battery life should be a primary concern in portable systems. My iPhone 4 has a better battery life than the PSV... and iPhone's are known to have awful battery life. I guarantee this thing is going to die in under 2 hours while on 3G. Where does that leave PSV in the grand scheme of things?
"Still really fucking embarrassing if you ask me."
Yeah, for BOTH of 'em.
Let's not forget that while the PSV sports more "juice", the 3DS is powering two graphics chips and three screens.
So, woop-de-doo, give the PSV a star! It has the same battery power than a fully featured 3DS while NOT running the most important feature of the 3G version.
Now THAT'S embarrasing.
I use my 3DS and psp for when Im bored if my 360 or if Im watching TV I will play some game and watch TV in the background.
So this news sounds good to me.
If people are getting mad at Sony, they should be mad at them for NOT RELEASING THE VITA IN THE US BEFORE CHRISTMAS GOD THEY ARE IDIOTS.
"The main gimmick of this system is the great graphics and power, and that lasts 5 hours."
I love how you take the maximum ammount of time possible from the quote like it was a given.
By that token, the 3DS lasts 5 hours with 3D on!
No, it doesn't, and nether does the PSV play for 5 hours. they both last for about 2, and it goes down for everything you add.
So yeah, hypocresy is pretty much a valid thing to point out still. If it's a problem with one, it is with both, or not at all.
I said this backwards. I meant they last for about 2 hours, and that number goes up with every feature you remove.
Brain fart.
The problem with the 3DS is that the 3D is never really "off" unless a game has the feature to turn it off, or if you're playing a DS game.
Now, as to why people are more OK with the Vita's battery life, that's very simple; it's because the 3DS launched first. The 3DS provided the standard for this gen of portable consoles. It's the same with price, Vita's $250 looked a WHOLE lot better because the 3DS launched at $250. A new standard was set, and the one that set that standard took the brunt of the criticism. That's the way it works.
There is also the fact that people expected this from the Vita because of its specifications. A screen that size powered by a quad-core CPU? Everyone was already assuming the worst. The 3DS, on the other hand, had a lot of people thinking that it would last longer than it does. People will ALWAYS be more upset when expectations are not met, even if the two figures end up being the same.
So Destructoid's chapter of Nintendo Loyalists have very little grounds for outrage in this particular instance, I'm afraid. The reasons why people aren't as upset are somewhat understandable.
I hope that someone out there will get the reference.
Diabolically pleased with the outcome.
I'm going to create a solar panel adapter for both Vita and 3DS.
It will probably be bigger than a Pizza box,but it will work ;P
If the successor of a product seems weaker in some aspects than their antecessor, it sounds like a problem, even not being one.
The PSV is in all aspects better than the PSP, but the 3DS is not better than the DS in all aspects. That is the comparison most people are doing.
If Sony felt the (unnecessary) need to slash the specs down, I bet we'd see double or even triple the battery life out of this -however it wouldn't be quite the monster they're really wanting to maul us with. So, here we have 5 hours of gaming life -and I'm okay with that.
"The PSV is in all aspects better than the PSP, but the 3DS is not better than the DS in all aspects. That is the comparison most people are doing."
I'm sorry to keep harping on this, bt if that is the reasoning, the people doing it need to reevaluate their facts.
Both systems are superior to their predessesor in every way except one, and they both are worse on the same one, so this position has no merit.
People are more lenient because the 3ds came out first and the vita does a hell of a lot more. Both on the social front and the graphical department.
