I'll still buy a Wii U. I haven't been this excited about a Nintendo product since the N64. The only thing that upsets me is Gamecube games being DD only.

This is good news. Some 13 year old went postal in the chat about this when it was first reported. Claimed to own shares in Sony, then his "girlfriend" or something came on and told us all about him punch a hole in the wall and needing "medication" it was actually really tragic.
It's probably less of a risk than that GBA/Gamecube link cable. I'd love to see whatever the newest LittleBigPlanet ends up being use it.

Now the Vita is taking hits at the Wii U. And while they may not be entirely the same, the end result is that 1) you don't have to use it if you don't really want to 2) Vita is a console on it's own so it'll have it's own game and you can take it anywhere perhaps even using the cloud to take PS3 games and your saves on the go and 3) it'll probably work with the PS4 as well down the line.

the functionality as an extra normal controller is nice, although it's unlikely to be as comfortable. As for actually using the PS vita's unique control methods to control new PS3 games, we saw one of those at E3... which was an absolute piece of shit dungeon crawler... :(

There's something we're not being told about "tranfarring..." I just know it.
Also, this functionality is cool, but I'd rather just use a dualshock. As others have said, it might be uncomfortable, probably has shorter battery life, has smaller sticks, etc. etc.
I guess coolest the scenario would be if you were at a friend's house whom had a PS3 but not 2 controllers. If they allowed you to carry your profile, DLC, game saves, etc on the Vita that might be nice. But since the PS3 hates multi-profile games anyway...

wow, it can possibly be used as a PS3 controller you say? that more than justifies it's $250 price tag.

Wow. Imagine if they could allow A/V streaming to the PS3 from the PSV. We could play old PSP games, on a TV, with real analog sticks, ,without a cable, if they only tried! :)
It's a good feature. Hopefully Sony and third party dev's will support it, otherwise it'll go to waste.
This is nice and all I hope for the best for Vita I won't get this becasue I have all my games for the psp and now this comes out and they want me to buy them all again if I want to play it on this. NO Yes I know nintendo has done this to by selling older titles on the virtual counsel. ( so has xbox and Sony on there marketplace) Just feel sotra shafted is all .Still I hope it works for the best.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.
