PlayStation Store Update: Eden without Eve, helmets, pigskin, and Yomp photo

This week the PlayStation store is a bit up and down. We have some excellent demos and a great PSN game. Unfortunately, the music and wallpaper are not exactly the greatest offerings the service has ever extended. The biggest reason why you should turn on your PS3 and update your firmware is that PixelJunk Eden is finally out. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be swinging from plants, collecting pollen, and enjoying Q-Games beautiful art. At least check out the demo if you’re still skeptical. Oh yeah, and there's Trophy support.

Just like Xbox Live got earlier today, PSN updated its store with demos of Madden NFL Football 2009 and FaceBreaker. Madden will show you how the game adapts to your skill, and then put you in the precarious 4th quarter position that the Giants found themselves in during the SuperBowl this year. Unfortunately, David Tyree isn’t there to save the day, but at least you can run a slant with Shockey. FaceBreaker is cartoon boxing, with heavy pizzazz. I’m still not sure what to think about it.

SoulCalibur IV already has some helmets and equipment you can buy for $1.49, and Rock Band was gifted with a smattering of songs. Some of the more notable titles are “Yomp” by thenewno2 ($0.99) and “This is it” by Staind ($1.99.) I haven’t bought a Staind album since I was twelve, but I remember that “Mudshovel” and the bonus bathroom track rocked.

Hit the break to check out what else is being offered on the download front, and tell me what you think you’ll download this week.

Facebreaker was pretty neat. Sorta reminded me of R2R, but not was weird. Too bad that stupid create-a-boxer using a photo took god damn forever.

I have Snakeball in the New Releases section, and it has a symbol by it like I purchased it, but I never did.

Anyone else getting this?

My PSN shows that I downloaded PJ Eden, even though I never purchased it. I noticed it when I downloaded the demo and there were two versions of it (the demo and the retail version I guess). *shrugs* I'm not complaining.

PJ Eden is amazing! Just from looking at it I thought it was going to be lame. I haven't had that much fun with platforming since mario.
Addictive as hell too!

I think I will be grabbing Eden as well!

I caved and tried to get the 3 new maps for MGO but the STUPID form would not accept my credit card, I tried like 6 times and each time it said it was unaccepted and I would not be charged.

Error 809 and 813 I believe...totally stupid.

I couldn't get into PJ Eden. Pretty and all, but on the end is just a jumping dot. I couldn't even finish the demo. Even my "love-weird-games" ability (for example, I like Flow a lot) didn't help on this one. I'm excited about facebreaker though

My wife and I are addicted to PJ Eden, much like we are with Monsters. These Q-games guys just know how to get to the core of a gamers addiction in all of us I guess.

Now she's trophy hunting too....she'll never catch up to me though, but she's trying her darndest. (She's so cute like that)

Eden is amazingly fun and easy to pick up and play. Great game. I wasn't too enthralled by this weeks rock band offerings though. Last week's Shinedown tracks are hella fun to play.
