this game looks fun. and pretty.
Still a better deal than Xbox gold regardless.
Every "Stacking" game downloaded on PSN through PS+ will be paid for by Sony to Double Fine (I would guess)
@dr_spaceman__
You're the reason why more DLC will have DRM protection....
And now this which looks awesome, I'd recommend it to any PS3 owner.
This certainly helps too.
As a subscriber, i'll be as objective as possible.
First few months of this service when it was introduced was garbage, but they threw in a ton of things that have made the program pay for itself and then some. Sam & Max was a $35 value, I'm assuming that this Stacking is between a $10 or $15 value. The qore membership which i believe is $25 value is thrown in free, the amount of free software, discounts, early access, early demos, and betas have more than made up for the cost. The discounts alone have been worth it if you are a regular customer.
Some of the minis are crap, but still I got bandicoot racing, spyro, space shooter for $2, shatter, Season 3 of Sam & Max and other stuff, all for the subscrip price. Im totally sold on keeping this as long as they supply it. Its an actual value, not like xbl, which I do have. The only benefit of xbl gold is playing with others... and facebook. lol.
Also.. its $50 for 15 months... come on now. How can you pass that up? People saying its not worth it are crazy.
while i agree that it is getting better - and maybe worth it in a strictly monetary sense - ps+ hasn't exactly hit it out of the park with offers.
i'm not trying to be an ass, it's awesome you are enjoying it, i have plenty of friends who subscribe too... but it's not always a cost = value thing. if the offers are things i don't give a shit about, how is it worth it to me?
and yes, people do like to complain on the internet... no denying that :)
It's 17.99 for 3 months, this automatically makes it worth only a $2 cost.
I'll be renewing this sunday.
Long story short, the first few months it sucked, and then it got pretty damn awesome. For starters, the entire Sam and Max series on PSN (Penal Zone) was offered free - it's like $50 right off the bat.
If you ask me, the automatic firmware updates should be a standard PS3 feature, with the automatic game updates being the premium Plus Only feature. I'd imagine this would be their next step especially in light of the online cheaters they are battling.
PSN plus already paid itself.
LBP, Shatter and now this? That's awesome and totally worth it. Better still, PS3 owners have a choice. You can't beat choice, ever.
You don't lose all your games you recieve free, you just have to re-subscribe to play them again. And I bet you once the PS3 era ends, Sony will allow all games already downloaded through PSN+ to be had forever.
