So does Sony give a portion of Playstation+ revenue to Double Fine. I figured they weren't too good financially, and giving their game away for free wouldn't help.

Nice stuff. So far Plus has been totally worth the money for me. I'm pretty well sold on my subscription for next year. I'll have to if I want to finish all the games they've give out this year. It's crazy!!
CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT GAME. It's nice having a toy obsessed mom, all I had to do was tell her who made it and show her the trailer and she instantly handed me $15 and ordered me to buy it day one. XD

I love Playstation+. I got LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout HD, seven(?) Sam & Max episodes, plenty of smaller PSN games like Shatter which was fantastic, discounts on Undead Nightmare and Trine which were both great, free map packs for Killzone 2 etc. It has paid back at least five times what I paid for it imo. And I don't even use the free minis, avatars, themes and PSN classics.

@jessicarabbitszs ummmm... did you not know sony permits most items downloaded from the PS store to be shared with up to 5 other accounts? and they can limit it if they choose to. so yeah, not sure what you mean.
PS+ is slowly getting better and better. With all of the Japanese PSX games on PSN for half-price, it will soon become essentially FREE with all of the purchases I could make.

Loving the haterade on the comments below. The best possible person to give an opinion on whether or not it is worth it, is a subscriber. What we have here are non subscribers doing what people do on the internet best.. Complaining.
As a subscriber, i'll be as objective as possible.
First few months of this service when it was introduced was garbage, but they threw in a ton of things that have made the program pay for itself and then some. Sam & Max was a $35 value, I'm assuming that this Stacking is between a $10 or $15 value. The qore membership which i believe is $25 value is thrown in free, the amount of free software, discounts, early access, early demos, and betas have more than made up for the cost. The discounts alone have been worth it if you are a regular customer.

This is good news. I'm guessing Double Fine got a nice chunk of change for this. Since it's going to be free more people will get to play it and that means Double Fine will get more notoriety, and then Maybe another publisher will give double fine a chance to make a retail game again and then we can get Psychonauts 2.
That's great for PS+ subscribers, but eh, I'll pass. Free online is perfectly okay for me, not to mention that I want to renew XBL soon, so I'll stick with PS free for now.

@Favian only a few complaints on here, and they're legit. everybody gets an opinion, non subscribers know what's available too. they list it every month on the ps blog.

@Favian, but what happens if you un-subscribed to PSN+? I heard all those "free" downloads become unusable, kinda like you not being able to watch a streaming movie on Netflix if you cancel Netslix.

Anyone who says playstation plus isn't worth the money obviously hasn't used it. I've gotten more then a 150$ dollars worth of free games and add ons for the 50$ I payed. Thats not even including the betas you get automatically.

Yeah, and i have to give Sony kudos for only charging their customers for Premium content/privileges, and not the bare bones minimum that their competitor does. PS Plus is a nice thing to have, but your PS3 isn't dead without it. The fact that they're throwing in the PS Cloud to backup your saved games to their servers is consistent with their strategy of only charging for premium features, and not bare minimum features.
If you ask me, the automatic firmware updates should be a standard PS3 feature, with the automatic game updates being the premium Plus Only feature. I'd imagine this would be their next step especially in light of the online cheaters they are battling.

I've never regretted my PS+ subscription, but this definitely sweetens the deal! Can't wait to play it next week. If its half as good as CostumeQuest, I'll end up playing it twice.

Yup, that's awesome. The only reason it wasn't really worth it in the beginning was because I already had all the games they gave us. I still got it day one and I don't regret it.

PS+ seems like a damn good value these days, the only reason I won't subscribe is that you lose all the free games upon unsubscribing and as a collector, that really bothers me. In a similar sense, Gamefly is an excellent value, but I've never be a customer of theirs because I'd rather my money goes towards owning games permanently.

You don't lose all your games you recieve free, you just have to re-subscribe to play them again. And I bet you once the PS3 era ends, Sony will allow all games already downloaded through PSN+ to be had forever.
