PlayStation Network Update: Win a Car edition

In this week's PlayStation Network Update, there's plenty to play and watch, but only one of the items could help you win a new car. It doesn't hurt that the GRID demo (961mb) is also pretty kick-ass. After getting the control scheme down, I found myself addicted to the drifting section of the demo.

Actually, all the demos are pretty good this week. There are demos for HAZE and The Bourne Conspiracy (each about 1.5gb), and the HAZE demo even supports multiplayer. The downloadable title Rocketmen: Axis of Evil also hits this week for $9.99, and the PixelJunk Monsters Encore expansion pack includes 15 new levels for $5.99.

Rock Band never misses a week, and this week they offer Scene Pack 01 ($5.49), which includes acts like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Fall Out Boy. Guitar Hero III has a Muse pack for $6.25.

As for freebies, there's a bunch of PixelJunk Monsters goodies like wallpapers and a theme. There's also the decidedly generic "sports theme."

And finally, as always, there's a crapton of videos. Highlights include HD versions of the Mercenaries 2 and Overlord: Raising Hell trailers, as well as one of Mirror's Edge gameplay.

What are you downloading this week?

I didn't even know they were making a new Overlord game. That's awesome. -    view discussion

i would get pixeljunk monsters:encore with my american account if i already didnt get the european version of the game!!
but i might try the GRID demo see if its worth it like you say dale

also the HAZE demo is nice!......buuuuuuut isnt worth a 2 hour downlaod for a 25 minute demo and multiplayer just makes the demo shorter

I picked up the Bourne demo, and it's a doozy. It's like playing a rolling cutscene, in a good way. Gunplay is dodgy and the driving bites, but it's definitely worth a rental, even a purchase if you're the type who likes having the people watching over the should like what they're seeing.

Haze was pretty fun. I must say, this week was a good week for PSN.

Where would Destructoid be without Dale North?

But didn't Rocketmen hit months ago? I bought it.... Unless now it's not only purchasable from in the demo and you can just buy the whole thing from the PSN regardless of demo download? Confused. Do want PixelJunk Expansion though.

Yeah, the Haze demo is cool, but it just takes WAYYYYY too long to download. :(

Anyone understand what all this shit is?

@Volomon: No, but whatever it is he deserves a kick in the nuts for it. I think it's spam?

I'm getting the PJ:M expansion for sure. Good stuff.

I won't be entering the competition being as i live in the UK.
Plus I don't actually like GRID - theres just something about the handling of the cars that I don't like.
As for Haze, I'll give it a download to see what the fuss is about

I’ve downloaded the three demos, but I’ve just been too busy with GTA IV to care...
