I just made up a word to describe this week's PSN update: mehtastic. I already trade marked it, so don't even try and steal it. Seriously though, this week's update is far from stellar.
The game Go! Sports Ski has been released for $2.99. It's a skiing game that utilizes the SIXAXIS controller. It will more than likely have better controls than Lairtoo.
The Simpsons demo is the best item of today's update. Hard to believe that there hasn't been a good Simpsons game since Bart's Nightmare.. We also get Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War as the second demo of the week.
Several videos were also released this week which include Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Haze Dev interview, Tekkonkinkreet,Surf's Up and the tutorial videos for Eye of Judgment and NBA 08. I'll never understand why anyone needs to watch a tutorial for a sports game. To each his own, I suppose.
I like this update. While personally none of the games interest me (bladestorm demo being a possible exception), I like the trend that this is setting. Lots of demos, early and often, and keep on giving us DLC.
I'm happy that PSN content is improving. Hopefully it will only get better in the future.
Did anyone else think that looked almost exactly like the arcade game Alpine Racer released 11 years ago?
Both even have motion controls.
then: lean on fake skis.
now: move the controller on six-axis.
I know it's only $2.99. I'm not gonna go all Guy Fawkes on youz guyz like "zomg Sony makes a ski game forged from the depths of Mt. Failanblo. I'm just saying that it does resemble the game, doesn't it?
eh?
Holy generic environment! Where's the blizzard, the trails, avalanches ?SSX3 a last gen game blows it away! I wanna play that game right now just to whipe the taste outta my mouth from this horrible looking PS3 game. Coolboarders on PS1 comes to mind, especially the way the character lands. All stiff like. Way to go Sony, another winner!
As far as I’m concerned, any week where we get two demos isn’t a “mehtastic” week...although I do love that word, CTZ. In fact, I’d go download the demo of The Simpsons right now, but I have to go to sleep and wake up at 12:30 for class. Less than 8 hours of sleep = cocks.
By the way... does anyone know if it was actually possible to outrun that son of a bitch? I heard that you could, but only if you were damn good and hit all of the ramps (or is that just an urban myth?).
We love this game so we are playing it again. DC Universe Online on Destructoid Live.
