HTC's new HD2 phone is a beauty...except for that whole Windows OS crap. It's a processing beast, though, and that makes it a prime candidate for emulation. PlayStation emulation, anyone? That's the dream. A portable playing PlayStation games? Wait. Isn't there already a game system that does that? And doesn't it have buttons?

No matter. Seeing Tekken 3 running on a phone is pretty cool. Yes, yes. Yes, we see how you are scrolling through the menus. You can stop now.

It's running crazy smooth, though. Not to be a stick in the mud, but there's still no buttons. Still, this emulator, the FPSECE, is a beast. If this is version 0.10, this thing is going to be a killer soon enough. It kind of makes me wish my no-button phone had a beefy PS emu. Or that Sony would get of their asses and release all the PS games on the PSP.

mmm i don't know....

It's playing at what? 30fps??

I still prefer my PSP to play PS games in a portable way or with emulators for the PSP to play almost all PS games

Only a masochist would play PS1 games using a touchscreen for input. Also, it doesn't look like it's full-speed.

Might not be full speed, but I doubt an iphone can run it that smooth. I love my HTC.

Agreeing with the Sony need to get PS game on PSN deal.

It seems like SCEA adheres to the same retarded mentality of scheduling out games as they have been doing with consoles for years. I mean, its cool they got some Metal Gear and Final Fantasy stuff out a couple weeks back, but where the fuck is Vagrant Story?

EU and JP PSN have it, NA does not. Do they think FFVIII and Vagrant Story are in competition or something? They're both over a decade old, just release the fucking things already.

other sources (I'd link them, but am on my phone, an att tilt flashed to dual boot winmo 6.5 and android) say that it already supports bluetooth keyboards and controllers, which makes this very enticing, except for having to carry the extra hardware around if you want to properly game

Yes Sony hurry the hell up and put all the PS1 games on!

Still waiting for so many games. And wtf about Vagrant Story, just do it!

Oh and I need one of those phones..

Button mashing is even worse without buttons, apparently.

It reminds me that I want to get some PS2 emulation going on my PC. IIRC, you just need 2 fast cores and an 8800gt or better.

I'm glad that Destructoid doesn't shy away from discussing emulation. It is the redheaded stepchild of gaming and a lot of other sites avoid talking about it.

I disagree, I think Windows Mobile is actually one of the better mobile OSs out there -- Easily better than iPod Touch or Android in my opinion.

As for the video, that's extremely impressive, but there's no way it would ever feel okay without actual buttons.

Windows OS's are awesome, hence the reason more people use Windows based PC's than every other OS combined.

That may be a very playable speed, but having no real buttons makes it freaking unplayable for sure. It just looks painful to know you can run it ... but not really play it.

Perhaps you can bluetooth a PS3 controller to it or something?

In any case I can't wait for my Pandora. :D

I'm from Sweden and I've had my HTC HD2 for more than one month now.
Do you know there was a special forum dedicated for our beloved phones, yes, it's http://www.HTCHD2Forum.com.
The HTC Hd2 is my third HTC device and man it's great! I knew it had twice the clock speed compared to my Diamond but could never imagine the difference to be that huge.

Anyway, I know a little bit about WM and can hopfully help people.
