Beyond the living room

As a part of the PlayStation 4 reveal Lead System Architect Mark Cerny discussed the social features of the new platform. With PS4 Sony endeavors to make sharing video as easy as easy as it is to showoff a screenshot is today.

The PS4 architecture is said to allow friends to browse live video of one others play sessions. In addition to spectating, players will be able to interact with friends by reaching out, taking control, and assisting one another.

The platform also endeavors to be more like a social network, integrated with smart phones, tablets and web platforms. With these devices, along with the PlayStation Vita, the experience will be able to transcend the living room.

Check out ALL the PlayStation 4 coverage from today's event here. Console specs revealed, new controller detailed, and tons of games announced!
