How is it going Josie Smith? Long time, no see. What has it been? 5th grade? Wow.
You never nice to me...
D:
On the joke side, this update likely does absolutely nothing for a week except tie up all the system resources and then turn itself off permanently for a day.
Seriously how did you think of that? I'm in complete awe of your creative genius!
How long until Jim posts the same firmware update sarcasm article he's been using since 2008 that he for some reason still thinks is absolutely hilarious?! I hope soon, I want to read it right now!
You know what's worse than Sony throwing out firmware updates every month? Destructoid thinking it's still creative/funny to mock them for it.
it was a pain in the ass copying and backing up PS2/PS1 saves on the USB.
also where the hell is the ability to arrange games in folders in alphabetically order.
other than categories, my games are a mess. i want them in order SONY!!!!
still no de-sync function in wireless controllers so that in tournaments when someone accidentally push the home button it won't interrupt the last PS3 that it was used
other than that, yay updating time :D
- Fixed a bug that occasionally caused captaintek to have a stick up his ass.
- A Sense of Humor is now available on the Playstation Network Store.
Wtf, why? Why would you want to hear yourself speak, as you speak?
Is there an update available for that sense of humor? Because I hope the Destructoid staff downloads it and proceeds to make 5 year old jokes about it!
What an auspicious day for incremental improvements in the electronic entertainment industry this is!
buy the official PS2 memory card adapter to PS3
http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Memory-Card-Adaptor-Playstation-3/dp/B000K1GZIU/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1340685973&sr=1-1&keywords=ps2+memory+card+adapter
sure it costs a good chunk but it's well worth it.
not only you don't have to worry about your memory card saves running out, but also you could back them up and save in the computer.
im also confused as to why Sony didn't made the storage for PS2 and PS1 saves at least 1GB. i mean why the hell did they make the exact same storage back when it was released. they could have save alot of people the convenience in this things. i mean you can have up to 1TB of storage but they won't even allow us to use it wtf.
they could still patch it in the next firmware though so there's hope.
also the ability to check which DLC are installed would be nice sony, since sometimes it's been ahile since i last played the game, and i don't want to 2nd guess if the DLC's are install or not(waste of time, bandwidth and memory as well)
Now all I need is for them to do away with the horrendous trophy syncing rubbish AND allow me to exit the "Compare Trophies" screen when I'm in the XMB overlay mid-game without having to load up EVERY SINGLE PICTURE for all the games on the list before enabling me to close it.
heh!
automatic updates, exclusives, discounts, and free games...
I wish I was fancy too :(
Ooh, you're a faceless Internet person using sarcasm to attempt to get laughs because you never get any attention in real life! How original!
You know what's worse than Sony throwing out firmware updates every month? You, communicating with us.
It is Sod's law that they put this patch out now, it would have helped me a lot with those saves.
More than this, they need to do something about fucking copy protected saves. Locking them to a PSN profile to prevent people spoofing trophies (or whatever the batshit insane reason for doing this is) is fine, but for fuck's sake. In spite of being meticulous about my backing up, I somehow lost my UK Demon's Souls save (but not my NA Demon's Souls save?) and my S-ranked Bayonetta save. I re-downloaded them from online storage then they somehow got wiped when I booted up the games. And this is not just a PS3 issue, I lost saves on 360 before they rolled out cloud storage (which has a hell of a time working at all) and it wouldn't let me backup certain saves to a USB drive.
Also, they need to do something about the store layout, and especially the download list. I have 692 items on there and the only option is to view four on a screen at a time, chronologically.
The PS3 has a HDD backup utility that took care of that for me in just one button press to backup my old hard drive and one button to restore it on my new one. All my saves and DLC imported in fine.
