Ric Turner is a former Disney imagineer and special effects specialists so it's no surprise that Ric goes all out on holiday decorations. Ric modded his Christmas lights into a game of Guitar Hero. Over 21,268 lights and LEDs are used to play Eric Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover."

You don't actually hear any music when playing Christmas Lights Hero unless you're driving by and your radio station is tuned to 99.1. The lights also play when no one is playing the game, so folks will get a show either way. Even though the game is on easy mode and there are only three notes to worry about, the game is pretty hard. The lights don't provide the same timing as the Guitar Hero and no one has been able to play the game without getting an error so far.

Find out more about the mod over on MakeZine. So, best Christmas lights ever?

Thinking about it now, that kid was sort of overconfident in his abilities to play that song. Either way, I spotted the TV in the video. It would have been cool to see the lights rigged up to play all notes and be playable without a hidden system on the side of the driveway.

I always thought Cliffs of Dover sounded like it could be a Christmas rock song.

awesome light show, and nice choice of song indeed. it wouldve been amazing if it was on a harder difficulty but they that would probably be too hard to put that on lights. or it might look retarted if its real fast and a lot of notes which this song does have

Thats pretty cool, maybe next year he will make it more elaborate, but great effort overall! Especially with the variety in background lighting effects kept it interesting all the way through!

this reminds me way too much of one of those people who made their Christmas lights go along with Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Wizards in Winter...

Still quite an awesome video though

Pretty epic lights, that must have taken awhile to set up.

Honestly, the tree was the coolest part. At times it really did look like a Disney made thing. Still, it would have been SO MUCH more epic if he was playing on Expert on that tiny little tv set, with all the lights doing their thing. The garage door doesn't really add to this in any way.

Hahah, I knew, I just -knew- that some wankers with no sense of wonder would come along and complain about the fact that he's playing on easy.

That melted my face off. No, really, with all the heat from the lights my face will really melt.
