Were you excited about the news I posted yesterday in regards to the upcoming Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice title for DS, despite the fact the info wasn't brand spanking new? Well, this demo is fresh as they come, and yes, I know its been in the Community blogs already, so let me save you the trouble of announcing it in the comments. Luckily thousands of people read the front page that don't read the cblogs, so here it is for more to see!
Seeing a flash demo of a DS game online has really made me feel warm and fuzzy about Capcom, and I hope to see more of in future. There's no better way to ge me to buy a game then to give me a feel for how it plays. Of course, I would have bought Apollo Justice anyway, but that's not the point! More flash demos, please!
Pretty cool that Capcom went through the effort to release this sort of demo, since Nintendo clearly doesn't feel like releasing its DS demo channel for Wii any time soon.
Anyway, the demo is quite spoiler free if you've finished Ace Attorney 3. (Hell, it doesn't even spoil that) And it only spoils the first 10 minutes of AA4. It will give you a basis to see if you'll like Apollo though.
My judgement:
I like Apollo just fine, he's so insecure and angsty, if they build his character as well as they did with Phoenix it will be just fine.
Dang, painfully short. Also, kind of funny that one of my favorite DS games could easily be reproduced as a Flash game. Well, still looking forward to it! I want to know what becomes of Phoenix Wright!
@Chad Concelmo:
I don't like watching trailers, teasers, the preview of the next episode or the synopsis on TV Guide because I like to be spoil-free when the time comes. It comes naturally to some of us.
I've never played the AA series, but I thought a demo actually let you play the game, or is it the kind of game you mostly sit through and push a button every now and then? I thought the story was pretty interesting though, nice movie(you see what I did there? bring the flames)
SanityMask: Yes, you pretty much read the game more than you play it, but it's still engaging and much fun.
Sweet demo. I just started Ace Attourney 2 though and i don't think I will have finished the 3rd when this one is out :> I need to be in a certain mood to put playtime in these kind of games and I don't have that often.
Now that's how you make a demo. It may have been short but it was a good introduction and felt great after not playing any of the ace attorney games for so long.
...
i have this game but my mom sold my ds its cool game played it 3times

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also, short.
Thanks Colette, no objections here. :)

I couldn't win though.

And I had to stop playing the demo. I don't want to spoil any more than I already have.
