Much like Hamzakah, the Serious Sam games don't have to make any sense to be awesome; they just are for reasons beyond our understanding.
From now until February 19, GameTap is giving everyone a free round of Serious Sam II. Yup, that's pretty much it. Consider this post a public service announcement of sorts, minus the real American heroes.
