@Gestault, you have to already have a minecraft account not premium, and where it says "redeem" under the minecraft tab after you confirm your purchase, click "apply to account".
Go back to the link that they sent you in your email (with the downloads and Steam/Desura keys), and there will be a new space to get a Minecraft code. Then just go to minecraft.net, login to your account, hit redeem and redeem the code.
It's a very open-ended game that is definitely not for everyone. See if you can try it out at a friend's place or something like that to get a feel. I wasn't really interested at first, but I had heard so many good things about it that I gave it a shot and it turned out to be right up my alley. Many weeks later, I emerged from my home and had to take a break from the game for a couple of months. I find my real life is better off if I only play it in slightly smaller doses.
Notch has said he plans on adding a story and an overall objective and the new Adventure Update seems to be starting that.
Anyway, good on Notch being a stand up guy with donations and this.

@ Rammstein Ugh...if Fortresscraft is meant to be a decent representation of Minecraft, no thanks. The demo for FC was a buggy, pointless mess.
You seem to be implying that fans of the game are somehow in denial about the lack of plot. Have you actually seen a significant number of people claim this? If so, can you direct me to them so I can point and laugh?

I would probably only play Minecraft to make the entire cast of 8-Bit Theatre. Or, you know, if I had enough peeps on there to make it worth my while.
