Okay, so it may not be as simple as that sounds, but the option is definitely there!
Capcom confirmed that the WiiWare version of Mega Man 9 will have many different control options. Not only will turning the Wiimote on its side work, players will also be able to use the Classic Controller or anything that plugs into the Wii's GameCube control ports. Basically, this means you will be able to use the Wii NES RetroPort, allowing the world to play Mega Man 9 the way that Jesus intended.
I was debating what console to download Mega Man 9 on, but the glorious amount of stellar D-pad options on the Wii are making my decision a lot easier.
What do you think? Would you purchase a Wii NES RetroPort just to play Mega Man 9 with an NES controller (I would!)? Since I am forcing everyone in the world to purchase this nostalgic game, which download service are you leaning towards: WiiWare, XBLA, or PSN?

On the other hand, I was able to beat Mega Man 1-3 with my 360 controller, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad anyway.

I'd really like to see it in NES cartridge form. Maybe just as a case for an SD card or something.
Girlfriend has a Wii, might buy it there to do my duty to send the message that 2D games with less story and more gameplay is what I want. That and more REAL Mega Man games.
But for NES? Not in a million years. The Wii remote is far better as an NES controller than the originals ever were.

If Konami would start to make 8 bit games again,just like capcom does...... Oh god,it would be so awesome xD Just think of a new 8-bit Contra game! Of course i would buy the Wii NES controller if that would happen,but for now,i will stick to the Wii Remote :D
D-pad is on par to the NES version. And I want to see 8-bit Megaman in glorious 1080p, not the Wii's terrible 480p which they try to pass off as high def.
