1. Parody another movie/TV show
2. Weak person tries to be in with the "cool" crowd
3. "Cool" crowd goes ape-shit on weak person
4. Very unlikely hero comes to the rescue of the weak character for supposed comedic effect
Hollywood's been doing this kind of shite for years.
I don't care about the game, and I generally detest volleyball (albeit solely because I am absolutely terrible at it), but they are both suddenly awesome to me.
