Play Gears of War 2 with Slipknot photo

Epic and Microsoft Game Studios are throwing a contest in honor of Gears of War 2 during the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. The Mayhem Festival is a traveling music event that will feature the only band on the planet with sixteen drummers, Slipknot. The contest will only be offered on the radio in select tour cities for the show, with prizes including:

  • Tickets to the festival
  • Gift certificates for Gears of War 2, which releases November 2008
  • Xbox 360 consoles autographed by rock band Slipknot, with custom Mayhem Tour faceplates
Forty exceptionally lucky winners will get the opportunity to not only play Gears of War 2 in a special viewing room, but will also have the chance to chainsaw and shoot bullets with some of the members of Slipknot. It is not known at this time if Gears of War 2 will actually feature the 80-player lobby that would be required to fit in a small portion of the popular metal band. Microsoft has yet to respond to my inquiry of personal safety concerns as well, considering that one dude has an exceptionally pointy helmet.

The opportunity to play the upcoming Gears game will again only be offered in a limted number of cities. Hit the break to check out the full press release, and the cities where you may be able to play Gears of War 2.

Or Slipknot leave you and the console in unison after their victory. Rawk.
