No Apparent Reason Parties, NARPs for short, are a long standing tradition here at Destructoid. NARPs are parties hosted by Dtoiders for Dtoiders and everyone is welcome to attend a party. It's about playing games and interacting with other people all in the name of having a good time.
Today kicks off the first day of the super hyper fusion No Apparent Reason Party from Dtoid Portland and Dtoid Seattle-Vancouver. Community member Scion of Mogo is hosting the NARP at his place in Eugene, Oregon where there will be a ton of console gaming as well as table top gaming going down. The NARP is happening all weekend long so if you're near Eugene, just hit up the DtoidNorthWest GoogleGroup up so you can join in on the fun.
Dtoid Los Angeles, Australia and Europe all have some events in the works too. Hit the break to see what they're all up to!

On January 30, Project Infest is hosting a Street Fighter IV tournament where there will be an open bar and some fighter-related vendors selling arcade sticks and the like. Get more details on the event here.
This weekend, Dtoider Alphador is having a little get together for his birthday. Later down the line, ceark (who's not dead!) will be hosting a house warming party at his new giant pad in Los Angeles. If you're in Los Angeles area and want to join in on the fun, just join the DtoidLosAngeles Google Group.

Australia is getting its first videogame themed bar! Yahtzee and some other folks are opening a gaming themed bar where you'll get to play games and drink ... AT THE SAME TIME! DtoidAustralia is planning on hitting up the bar the day it opens and invites you to come along. Hit up their Google Group to see how you can join in.

Dtoid Europe has a number of NARPs in the works. Up first is mistic's birthday party! He'll be hosting the NARP at Teh Lair, which is a magical land full of videogames and out in the middle of nowhere. Check out DtoidEurope's past blogs to see how awesome Teh Lair is.
More NARPs are in the works but no dates have been announced yet. Join the Dtoid Europe Google Group so you can be kept up to date on all they have planned.

I've always wanted to go to a NARP, but I'm scared I'll end up at one of these things and relive those painful memories spent at the school disco. No one cares who the hell you are, everybody else knows each other and you're left in the corner swaying from side to side, fondling you phone as if you've just received a text message.
I guess you would have many battles with Kotaku, west side story style.
