Play fighting games to win bobbleheads, MLG 360 cases

7:15 PM on 07.28.2011 // Jesse Cortez

A while back, Destructoid launched Fight.destructoid.com, which is a new way to challenge gamers online for points that can be redeemed for prizes. Since its launch, many people have already signed up to check it out and battle their friends online! If this is your first time hearing about this, I'd highly recommend reading our tutorial guide here!

This week, we are proud to announce that the highly requested Mortal Kombat is now available to play! In celebration of this announcement, we are offering a couple of new prizes that you can earn by redeeming your hard-earned points. We will also be hosting some tournaments to give you the chance to win bonus points towards these and other future prizes! Check below for all the juicy details!

Ways to win points:

As always, you can challenge other players to a host of head-to-head competitions. You set the rules with the person you are challenging in games such as Super Street Fighter IV, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and now Mortal Kombat and Starcraft 2!

However, exclusive to this week, Destructoid will be hosting tournaments through fight.destructoid.com. By checking out the "Tournaments" tab at 8:00pm Pacific time on Tuesday and Thursday, you will see a list of 8 player tournaments you can join in! These are "bonus point" tournaments, so called because the winner of any of these tournaments will receive an extra 500 points added to their account! Added to the points that you get from just winning the tournament, and you are almost halfway to claiming a prize!

Don't think you have what it takes to win every match? Well, did you know that Fight.destructoid.com also has ways to earn points along on top playing matches? By inviting your friends to play by our referral system, you can earn extra points! Not only that, any time you play a match for points, regardless if you win or lose, you have the option of sharing the results on twitter and facebook for even more points.

For more details, be sure to read the Fight.destructoid.com Fight Manual and good luck on winning the prizes!

Currently, these are the prizes that are available to claim as of this post. However, check the official prize list here for the up-to-date details!

Prizes currently available:

Destructoid Bobblehead - 3000 points

Odds are you have heard about the Mr. Destructoid Bobblehead. Since their original run, they have been the prized possession of many community members, featured in the background of a Hulu commercial, and difficult to get a hold of one....until now. Exclusive to Fight.destructoid.com, we have one of the few remaining bobbleheads that needs a home. Outside of stealing one from someone else, this may be your last opportunity to win one for yourself. So gather up those points!

Xbox 360 MLG Vault Case - 4000 points

Calibur11 together with Major League Gaming present the MLG Vault. This Xbox 360 chassis comes with body panels, a controller cradle, android-head and an exclusive digi-cam finish. This case is compatible with all Calibur11 Vault accessories and just looks pretty darn awesome. Save up your points for a chance to win this prize!

To redeem these prizes, once you have the right amount of points, send an email to [email protected] with your email and name on fight.destructoid.com and we will let you know if they have been claimed already.
