Play Deadly Premonition, in English, on your PS3 photo

In North America, the deliciously hilarious Deadly Premonition is an Xbox 360 exclusive. However, that's no reason for PS3 loyalists to miss out on all the hands-stuffed-in-mouth fun. The Japanese version of the game is available for both 360 and PS3. It's called Red Seeds Profile out there and the best part is that it's in English!

Now there is no excuse not to own this sublime game. Import a copy today, or if you already have an Xbox 360, track it down. It'll cost you a meager $20, and it's the best twenty bucks you could ever hope to spend on a videogame in your life. Don't believe me? Just check out this video we posted earlier for proof.

Our review of the game is coming soon. Keep reading Destructoid, now officially the only videogame blog dedicated to giving Deadly Premonition full and dedicated coverage!

If this was $20 on the ps3, I'd jump all over it, however, Play-Asia.com has it for $78.90, so there's no way I'll be going near this until I pick up a 360.

TVGSWID is going to be particularly great this week, isn't it?

I love that the only other coverage I've seen of this game is IGN's review... which was a 2/10.

Guaranteed gold!

I'm not even kidding, I'm going to take advantage of GameStop's 50% trade-in offer and pick this up tonight.

Weird, GameSpot has it listed as a PS3 release date of Q2 2010.

It's an absolute crime that there's not gonna be a PAL release.

@mrandydixon: Haha! I already did that precisely. Good luck to everyone trying to find a copy; they only shipped one copy to my local Gamestop. Get it fast!

OMG so the original trailer for this from years ago had so much in common with the greatest show ever Twin Peaks, which apparently caused the developers to go back and strip away many of these similarities? Jim, in your review could you touch on how many throwbacks to the show are on here? like, is there still that scene with the dual men from another place and all that awesome black lodge shit?!?! This game has my interest.

@Thaliard - that is the truth, i picked up the only copy at the Gamestop where my friend works. They did have the empty box on the shelf but i think thats because i hyped my friend several times telling him he has to have it out there.

I think we should start a movement and get this game in the top 20 NPDs. That is if they even pressed enough for that.

This game looks to be in the same vein as those low budget SyFy Originals. I gotta get this game!

Does anyone know if the 360 version is regionfree?
Stevil's Avatar - Comment posted on 02/24/2010 16:25

@Birdman: It's region locked for the 360. Someone from Ignition (on NeoGAF) said Rising Star Games were planning to release this in Europe and they're going to check if this is still the case. Fingers crossed!

So the only way to get this is to import it for my PS3 and brownjohn touches on how stupid expensive that is.

I want this!!

The PS3 couldn't handle the PAL version of this game.
CONSOLE WAR HAS BEEN WON. Thank you, Deadly Premonition!

Poop. An import copy off eBay will cost poor European gamers upwards of £60. So much for budget gaming over here.

So wait, all this talk of importing is confusing me. Is the 360 version of this in the states? I want in on this cult action.

The 360 version is in the US, yeah. Not in PAL regions yet though... hopefully somebody will get on it.

@Byronic: Way ahead of you on that one! Ha! I don't even use NeoGaf but Shane Bettenhausen from Ignition keeps popping up on there and saying stuff like - 'Pretty sure that Rising Star Games is on track to release it as 'Deadly Premonition' in Europe in the Spring timeframe. I'll do some digging to see if it's still on track.'

So fingers crossed.

I watched 10 minutes of this game earlier today and I started getting a "Twin Peaks" vibe the whole time. This game screams 'sleeper hit'.
