Play Crysis Wars for free next week photo

Crysis Wars, the updated multiplayer modes that came with Crysis: Warhead will be offered for free on October 10-12. The opportunity is available in downloadable format via Crysis’ official website beginning October 6th. After registering on the site and downloading the client, a special key will be tossed your way that will enable the free play through the weekend.

It’s also of note to mention if you’re not down with this whole Internet multiplayer thing all the kids are doing, you can download the client and play over LAN prior to the above deal starting on the 6th. It’ll be like those days in your dorm room with Goldeneye, minus funky controllers and someone screaming, “Quit looking at my screen!”

I never got into Crysis, thanks to my Macintosh handicap, but I’ve always wanted to try it out. Are any of you thinking about jumping on this deal? Am I missing out on anything?

Actually, it's pretty good fun. Power Struggle mixes Counterstrike, Battlefield, Crysis and teeny bit of C&C: Renegade. Also humans use the nano-suit powers way better than the AI can.

Just remember that people can see your shadow even when cloaked.

Power struggle was in the original Crysis. I heard all they added was a team deathmatch mode. "Instant action" was basicly death match, and not very fun. Power struggle was much better. I hope they get a handle on the hackers though, playing the original we used to have to balance the teams so we had the same amount of hackers on each side. :/

I'll tell you how it is. My predictions: highly generic but visually stunning.

Does it include the DRM?

That would make or break it for me.

If I wanted it I could get it free anyway, and without all the restrictions.

Sadly, yes. Also, don't get either Wars or Warhead on Steam. As a result of its auto-updating nature Steam constantly tries to force an installation of Gamespy Comrade, and won't let you skip out of the opening videos, because it replaces the videos whenever you try to move or rename the files.

Fuck man, EA games are fucked up EVERYWHERE, even on the best frontend in PC gaming.

I tried it for a while and teh hardcore will love it.

My experience: once you realize someone is shooting at you you're dead. It's still pretty interesting with all the suit-powers and such.

They should do it on steam. It's easier there.

And how can you call yourself a gamer and not have a PC? A high end one is dirt cheap now.

Ya except goldeneye was a horrible console FPS with crap gamepad controls and crysis is decent.

more like it will be like the days of quake and unreal over lan Nobody but console boys played goldeneye since that crappy games was as good as it gets for them.

Hell i played goldeneye once and found out how sad and pathitic it was compared to PC fps.

@ unangbangkay

Erm... actually you are wrong.

Crysis Wars doesn't have DRM, only Warhead itself does (hence why you can play LAN and online flawlessly with Wars).

Warhead has DRM of the 5-installs at a time variety.

As in, you can only have your game installed to 5 different computers at a time, and when you uninstall one game it "frees" up an install to use on another computer.
