The first screens for Platinum Games' third-person-shooter Vanquish has been revealed, and the game certainly looks like it'll be hot in the graphics department. Many will criticize the "generic" look of the game, but I think Platinum has earned a break from doing really weird looking stuff.
In any case, this studio is yet to steer me too wrong, so I look forward to seeing how Vanquish works. Platinum, to my knowledge, has never done a third-person-shooter before, so it should be something quite fresh indeed. We shall, of course, have to wait and see how it goes.

Either way, I'm only interested in this game right now because of Platinum, so until I see a reason to get pumped up for the gameplay or something else, this is not a top priority for me.
I don't think it works like that. Dev studios don't tend to go "Whew, that's four games on the trot with inventive content, time for something bland and uninspiring!"
If it's another by-the-numbers futuristic third-person cover shooter then I'm so uninterested it makes my brain hurt to consider such a level of disinterest.
Like Jim said though, Platinum haven't screwed up yet, so here's hoping.

Also, I hope that this game can run in the PS3 Platinum Games! I don't want to see the same story that happen with Bayonetta.
