Goddamn LOVE my Nook Tablet. Beats the absolute fucking hell out of the Kindle Fire. Can't possibly speak highly enough of the thing.
What a coincidence, I just rooted my Nook Tablet an hour ago. It is $2.99 at the Amazon app store. Heh heh heh.

The only reason I haven't switched my Kindle 2 for a Kindle Fire is because I know Plants Vs. Zombies will take over my reading time. I'm glad Nook users now have the same problem.

He also has videos for how to undo it--mostly the same procedure as rooting it except you load the original operating system on the Tablet ROM, rather than the root.
It was pretty easy, and his directions work well. You just need a micro SD card if you have one of the newer anti-root operating systems (1.4.1 or 1.4.2). I got a 16 gig for $12 (card + shipping) from Amazon.
Nobody has reported getting bricked. My biggest worry is security since I entered my email password.
Other than that, I'm new to Android so I'm getting my feet wet on what it offers, but you can keep as much or as little of the Barnes and Noble operating system as you want, after you root it, and there is still access to the B&N store.

I wish they'd stop porting the game and make a SEQUEL. Popcap did an incredible job on Bejeweled 3. Not only did they add a ton of content and polish the gameplay to perfection, they updated it with HD graphics, great animation, and warping and scaling effects. I want a proper HD Plants vs Zombies 2, and I want it NOW!
