Anyone that knows me well knows that I am unnaturally obsessed with PixelJunk Monsters. I still play the game at least two nights a week, and since I have finished the majority of the levels, I just try to get the trophies from the Encore release (which are insanely hard). I think I find the music soothing, or maybe I really like to collect coins, or perhaps it has something to do with the satisfaction of killing those fat floaty guys. Whatever it is, in my mind, Monsters is a perfect game.
Apparently, I must not be the only one who would kill a baby to get a sequel, because Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert mentioned the possibility of a sequel at Tokyo Game Show. Joystiq reports that while the sequel would be far into the future, it would be part of a "series 2" that Q-Games is envisioning -- in which all titles are 3D instead of 2D (three-dimensional, rather than retro style 2D).
Well, this is like, one of my gaming dreams. MORE PixelJunk! So what did I do? Promptly marched over to the Q-Games website to send them an email, of course. I want them to know this fan wants that sequel! If you love Monsters as much as I do, please do the same by sending an email to contact@q-games.com. Let's make it happen, people! I want to see my little Tiki friends dancing again!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
though... *sigh* a little part of my soul crumbles off into the abyss every time I see the "in 3D" catch-phrase.
At first I thought it was just another thing for Sony haters to jump on, but there are 3D games on the way for the 360 so that can't account for all of it.
So far the games that are playable in 3D only have it as an option and it's not like you can't play the game without a 3D tv so it can't be that.
A lot of people bitch as if a 3D tv will cost them as much as a loaded BMW, but in actuality the price tag isn't that big a leap over an HD tv. I guess we can chalk that one up to people being misinformed?
It doesn't look like we have anything to worry about in the graphics dept. I've only had a chance to see MLB The Show in HD myself but it looks great. And as long as GT5 looks just half as good in 3D as it does running normally then there's nothing to worry about there.
Apparently there is a possibility that viewing 3D for some people will cause their eyes to cross, their brains to melt, and they'll collapse to the floor writhing in agony, but that's been a pretty standard warning since the earliest days of gaming. If you happen to be one of those people who are at risk you still be able to play the game in the standard view.
Even if you do just think 3D is a passing fad it's just an option, and it doesn't look like it going to cost you anything more to have it even if you don't want it. Someone explain to me where the downside is.
What 'other stuff' should they be spending their time on? Rendering for a 3D device is so easy, I've done it myself, and my experience in programming is limited to 6 months of dabbling. If the game is to use a 3D asset set, it's almost as simple as flipping a switch.
Also, you won't be forced to play it in 3D.
And motion controls are fucking dumb.
And I also is mad.
"I have 3dtv" lol wut?
It's just another step in the dev process that will only get faster. It also seems to be something can can add on at a later date with an update. It doesn't seem to be holding up Dead Space 2 at all. It just seems like a pretty minor complaint.
Also what Gol-D-Roger said.
