Pirates in my Fat Princess? How heteronormative! photo

Titan Studios has dropped a rather big tease on its official blog, consisting of the above image and the simple battle cry: "Avast!" From the looks of things, pirates are coming to Fat Princess, and while I don't know quite how that would offend feminists, I'm sure they'll find a way to be upset by it.

What does this seriously mean, though? Could it be a whole new character class? Alternate costumes? Considering hats are the way classes are selected in Fat Princess, it would suggest that pirates could be a brand new unit in the game. However, it's also possible that Titan is just screwing with us, and this image means abolutely nothing.

We'll have to sit tight and see. YARRRR!

If they are new I'll probably have to pay for 'em...and like a good little monkey I probably will *sigh*

I wish there was someway you could use Heteronormative in every news post you make tomorrow Jim.

Ha, this is actually pretty cool. A class that has short and mid-range attacks would be great.

Well that's just peachy, now the Somalian pirates are going to be bitching about this game and how it makes little girls feel insecure about their piracy.

Pirates have better teeth than feminists, hurr hurr.

But the pirates would be a class that I would like to try, some swashbuckling fun would be had.

Now it just needs Ninjas, Zombies, and ELO.

They also teased some Ninjas, which could be epic.

I just hope it is free DLC. Of course there is the option to Download straight from Fat Princess, but given all the connection problems with a $15 price tag, it seems they owe it to the players.

Also, I have a logistic question. Because Fat Princess lacks an in depth system of searching, how would they implement new classes into a game where some of the players don't have the hats? Would they have to redesign to levels as well to accommodate more factories?

Pirates could be a really interesting class if they are a mixture of close and ranged attacks.
If these will become an actual class I wonder how it would be implemented and if they would charge for it or not, or if they could only be used on certain new levels.
I guess it really just depends on how this all turns out in the future.

Nice...now this game just needs a solid dose of "fun" injected into it and it might be worth it.

Heteronormative. Jim you slay me.

Interesting note: My browser says that Heteronormative is either spelled wrong or isn't a word. My bet is the latter.

I haven't heard the word heteronormative since I was hanging out with first-wave neofeminists in grad school.

Heteronormative is a third-wave term. BZZAP!

But! Pirates would be cool (as would ninjas if that other image has any veracity). I love my Fat Princess but there's a definite lack of content there. Mostly in the levels but new classes would change things up a bit.

@JamnOnTheOne, I was going to disagree but then I saw your entire existence is a Cosby Show reference. How can I argue against someone like you? This game sucks.

Seeing as this is a team based game I don't see how this could be a skin? So one person can buy a costume that is skin for the warrior, and they will be the only ones walking around like that? It seems odd to me. Oh the other hand how do you have an additional class as DLC when everyone might not buy it? Won't that put people who don't get it at a disadvantage? I think this must either be free DLC, or maybe this will be pack with new maps that will only use these classes?
