Gamers isn't another one of those lame video game shows that try way too hard to pull off unnecessary punchlines. Instead, it focuses on over the top video game players and the geek lifestyle. From vampire role players to Zerg rushes to WoW addiction -- Gamers has it all. From the director himself:
Written and independently produced by actual Gamers, this speculative television series promises to be everything that ancient movies and TV shows like The Wizard and Captain N weren't: smart, in touch, and most importantly -- entertaining to all types of Gamers.
Game-related shows aren't exactly the first thing TV networks go searching for -- that's why your help is needed. If you think this pilot showed any promise whatsoever, support the show by going to the official Gamers Web site.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Better than expected! Although, I was expecting the worst.
I'd need to see something other than a clumsy montage of jokes, though, before I can judge. Otherwise it's like thinking an early-00's Rob Schneider movie is a must-see based on the trailer.
I've been waiting for a show like this for way too long. If they can make this like full 30 minute shows with a plot, intertwined with Mega64 style comedy (which is sort of what I see in the pilot) this show will be a hit. However, their hopes and dreams to be on network television are... a little bit bloated. What would be done (if a network picked this up) would be A: Pretty much all of the cast would be thrown out B: Most of the comedy and scripting would be reworked to fit "What the Network deems 'funny' " and C: The show name would be renamed to Gamerz: Also, Cocks.
Ninja bastards!! But seriously, put an actual budget behind it and replace every one of those actors, and you might have something. I could see Fox picking it up, they've tried just about everything else. Maybe even make it a cartoon, ala Family Guy and American Dad.
Seeing that Adult Swim is starting to to semi-live action stuff (Saul and the Mole Men, etc.), that may be their best shot. (I would say g4, but we all not g4 doesn't know what the hell it is doing.) The problem with Adult Swim is that they are already looking at Gembling, with is computer/video game realted.
Anywho, it doesn't look bad. It looks more like the kind of show you'd expect to see on Youtube than on an actual TV. I think it would be better suited for the internet. Unless it does awesome.
Thanks for linking to this; I'm glad that we're starting to get the word out there.

Uninspired. Like most any video game show, it hinges too much on its audience's knowledge of video games. The only show that even sort of got away from that was Pure Pwnage, but there was still a lot hinging on gamer knowledge. Someone needs to take a show like The Office and put it in a game developer's studio. The games are there, but they're in the background so the cast can perform. That way everyone can laugh and the gamers get bonus giggles for obscure Master Blaster and Battle Arena Toshinden references.
O god, why does this look like the same youtube bullshit? Since when did everyone who could get their hands on something that records video think they know how to make a video. Jesus christ if I could go back in time to warn myself about watching this video, I still wouldnt, because knowing my luck Id bring the hell with me that this video has put apon me.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Official Temporary Judgment: It has potential.
Trade-a-Game is the worst fucking place on the planet. They rip everyone off. And then they kill and rape nuns.
Ahah, Spokane.
Ditto. Funniest part of the video.

I'll pass on this one whether it hits TV or or not...

As lame as Robot Chicken's attempts at video game parody. It's just not funny, you guys. It's really just not funny.
