Pillage with or slaughter your friends: Overlord to include multiplayer, DLC photo
     Codemasters
The upcoming Pikmin-on-angeldust PC/Xbox 360 game, Overlord, already had me foaming at the mouth when I first saw a screenshot involving a bloody unicorn. With its "kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out" attitude towards overlording, it's getting increasingly difficult for me to shift my legs in such a way that I can publicly hide my enthusiasm.

Multiplayer modes have now been confirmed for the Triumph Studios title, including deathmatch, as well as cooperative modes. "Slaughter mode" will be your typical deathmatch, with each player commanding an army of minions (up to 50 per overlord) to pick one another apart in delightfully heinous ways (within the confines of a T rating, of course).

In addition, there will be a one-on-one "Plunder mode," where you'll attempt to out-loot and out-pillage your opponent, "he who dies with the most toys wins" style. This game is starting to sound a lot like 80s iron-on t-shirts ...

Triumph Studios is also promising downloadable content that includes multiplayer maps and a new chapter that will include a new area, new monsters, and new weapons. Letting God sort them out and dying with the most toys has never sounded like so much fun.

Demios, that wasn't Sony... I don't think. Since all the info was about a 360 version (or it may have been exclusive). But its been put on hold. Indefinably.

When i see the pumpkins on the imps heads is it wrong to think that i want them to be replaced by skinned faces??? (preferably ones previously belonging to nearby children)

Surely this can be put in through some DLC, right?!?!?!

Perhaps i wont buy this game after-all...

Thx for the update Ignus...That game looked awesome and totally not teen-rated. Honestly though if this is half as good as Dungeon Keeper is (ive been hearing comparisons since this surfaced) then its a 100% purchase.

I always loved Age of wonders by Triumph Studios for some strange and painfully slowing gameplay reason....I reckon those guys can pull this off and make it a game worth playing! (whilst not taking about an hour to command your whole army in a turn)

Oh, and the release according to most of the sites I've found have it coming out at the end of this month (6/26 or 29/6 for you, Jim. Wait, do the brits go D/M/Y like the rest of the world, or M/D/Y like us crazy yanks?)

Grr. I'm going to be broke as shit come July, with the iPhone hitting shelves, Shadowrun, The Darkness, The Bigs (I hope 2k does as well with the wiimote as EA Canada does), and Overlord. Fuck.

Possession is on "hold." I wrote a piece on it ... do a search. Zombie minions would rule, though.
