Pigeon dissection FTW: Bully: Scholarship Edition (Wii/360) screens, details photo

It's disappointing that I think a lot of people overlooked Rockstar's Bully on the PlayStation 2. For anyone who dismissed it as "Grand Theft Auto in a private school," I have news for you -- you're close. But Bully was an impressively polished game, with enough variation in gameplay to keep it interesting, and some clever writing pulling it all together.

On March 4, Rockstar will be releasing Bully: Scholarship Edition for the Wii and Xbox 360, and I'm going to have to insist that anyone who missed it the first time around picks it up. Scholarship Edition contains eight new missions, four new classics (including what appears to be a pigeon dissecting mini-game on the Wii), new items, and two-player offline mini-games. The 360 version will, of course, contain achievements, so it's just a matter of deciding whether or not that's more important than pigeon dissection.

It's disappointing that (based on the screens) the Xbox 360 version hasn't received more of a graphical overhaul, but the price is about right -- both versions of the game will retail for $49.99.

Nothing is more imporatnt than pigeon disection. Nothing.

Never played it on PS2 but since Godfather turned out so well on the Wii I think I'll probably pick this up.

Note to everyone: If you ever wind up playing this at a games festival (MAGfest for example), do something besides beat up everyone in the entire school, at 3 in the morning, with a wicked grin on your face.

People may be watching behind your back.

Speaking as a 360 owner I can say I've been looking forward to this for a while. Speaking as an Englishman I can say that I'm not looking forward to being ripped off on the pricing.

Bully was very solid, lots of fun. Plus, it clearly knows its classic games.

Technos Dodgeball homage FTW!

Bully is a great game, but get it for a Tenner or something for PS2 if you have one. I can't imagine the new parts being worth 30 quid.

I would agree, besides The Warriors, Bully is probably the best game Rockstar has made.

I almost want to buy it again but when I own games I bought on their release date and still haven't played them (Eternal Sonata, Persona 3) I think I should finish beating them before I replay new versions of games I own.

A co-workers is playing through bully right now, he seems pleased with it.

I'll pass on this thought and just grab the 20$ ps2 version

I'd love to go back and grab myself a PSdouble and get Bully, Odin Sphere and God of War 1 and 2 amongst others. Unfortunately both my financial state and the fact that I only have a 360 dictates that I can't.

Lotto FTW

Was it a guy that kept playing it for hours or are you talking bout yourself?=P

Bully is a solid game, but it didn't blow me away. After awhile it started to feel like a bunch of easy mini-games, which is really what it is when you aren't doing one of the main missions.

I was always impressed by the voice acting in Bully though...

I really enjoyed the first game... got it when it first came out. *nods with self-approval*

I didn't have any interest in it at e3 some time ago, then a friend of mine let me borrow it when it was released, I was impressed.
I believe what made it a great game, besides being completely original, was that it did a good job of actually engaging you. Maybe its just cause it had this feeling of nostalgia I could relate to - from so long ago, who knows.
But besides that the game was actually solid - with the added free-to-do-as-you-please feature running along with it. And just like The Warriors, its sound design was great - something that seems to be looked over way too much now in days.

I might check this out, I was interested in Bully, but it was one of those games that got lost in the sea of games I had to play.
