Now, I say! I don't care if you have a PlayStation Portable or not. Just download it. You'll add to Sony and Sega's traffic measurements and make them think there are even more people wanting all that strategic hotness.
And if you've got a PSP, you have no excuse. The last Valkyria Chronicles game was one of the best titles on the big box o' blu-ray, and its sequel one looks to be that way, except this time for the small brick o' UMD.
Now go. Pick it up off the PSN store, or just buy it when it comes out at the end of the month. Aaron Weber from Sega promises that the game will include even more weird vehicle decals than the original ones released in Japan, as well as extra DLC missions and a few unlockable "easter egg" characters.
You have your orders, now go download the demo.

If I ever actually get a PSP, I'll be ready to go!
I guess this demo is the same as the Japanese demo, I won't bother downloading it again.
And really, what the fuck are they thinking putting it on the PSP only?! Why? WHY???
I played and hated the demo too, BUT I ended up picking up the full game (cheap!) at a later point, giving it another chance. It took me a while to get used to the battle system, but once it clicked, then it became immensely enjoyable. Other things not represented in the demo (storybook, tech trees, teambuilding, amazing cutscenes and good storytelling) also make it a fantastic title.
Even as a PSP owner I am still disappointed the sequel is PSP only. Peace Walker has renewed my interest in the handheld, though, so maybe it's not all that bad.
What the fuck are the thinking?
Here's what:
"More people own PSPs than PS3s in Japan, addtionally we have an anime series airing soon. We should make this for PSP so we can develop the sequel more quickly for less money and strike while the iron is hot."
This is instead of:
"Let's spend a couple more years and a lot more money on a beautifully crafted PS3 game one will buy."
I LOVED the first one (although my mrs and housemate HATEd watching my play it, go figure) and I'm personally glad this is on the portable. i love my portable, specially with all the great games there are to play on it right now.
I'll be getting this after work, and will probably buy the full game so long as it's on par with the last one.
Also, fuck PSP haters.
I played the Socom 3 demo on my PSP last night (old, I know I know) but I need that game now, it was sweeeeeeet.
The PSP rocks. The choice of the hardcore gamer on the go.
ALRIGHT GEEZ
Because playing emulators automatically means you're pirating games(!)
Yes it's quite possible that Syn is pirating games, but just because he claims to be playing emulators does NOT necessarily mean that he is - or that he's breaking the law. If you own both the console and the game being emulated then it's legal under US law.

Anyway, back on topic - I'll definitely be picking this up. The original is easily one of my favourite games this generation.
Apologies for my own English there, I meant:
"Yes it's quite possible that Syn is pirating games, but the act of playing emulators does NOT necessarily mean that he's pirating anything."
