If you're looking for a reason to see the bright side about using Origin, you can pick up Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year Edition there currently for the low, low price of free. I realize that doesn't exactly make up for all the heartache Origin may have caused you, but it's a nice gesture, isn't it? You're saving $5, at the very least.
Plants vs. Zombies is one of those games I never fully expected to get into, but devoured hungrily once I figured out it would run on my old laptop back upon its release and it was so darn cute, I quickly warmed to it. It's a great little strategy game and the zombies aren't even overdone, so adding it to your collection definitely isn't a bad idea, even if it's on Origin -- which I haven't really had any issues with yet, but I know no one really likes it and all that, so yeah.
